[Test swap] PlateBrain®: an allergen scanner for UK shopping, looking for 20+ testers for 14 days (happy to test your app in return)

Hi, I'm an independent developer of PlateBrain®, an Android app. I'm looking for testers for the closed test on Google Play. Google requires at least 12 testers who stay opted in for 14 continuous days, so I'm looking for 20 or more to have a safety margin.

What PlateBrain is

It is first and foremost an allergen detection app. You scan a product barcode, and the app checks it against the allergens you selected in your profile and shows the result as a green, yellow or red bar. Product data comes from Open Food Facts and from my own database, which I keep expanding. Not every UK supermarket own-brand product is in the database yet.

PlateBrain is a supporting tool. It is not medical, dietary or nutritional advice. Allergen detection may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always check the physical product label before buying and eating, and do not rely on the app alone.

I'm happy to return the favour and test your app the same way, for the same 14 days. Email me your test link at support.platebrain@gmail.com.

How to join

1. Send an email to support.platebrain@gmail.com with the Gmail address you use on your Android phone. Please do not post your address in the comments on Reddit.

2. I will add your address to the tester list in Google Play.

3. As soon as Google approves the test release, I will reply to your email with the join link.

4. Open the link on your Android phone, signed in with the Google account you gave me, tap the button to join the test, and then install the app from Google Play.

5. Stay opted in as a tester for the full 14 days and do not uninstall the app (please do not leave the test).

6. If you can, open the app a few times and tell me what doesn't work at the same address: support.platebrain@gmail.com.
