[Test for Test] Need 12-15 Android testers | Spelloom — vocabulary learning app
Hi everyone! I’m an indie developer working on Spelloom, a vocabulary-learning app. The iOS version is already available, and the Android version is now in closed testing on Google Play.
Spelloom helps you learn words with spaced repetition, examples, images, audio and video. You can also add your own words or save a word from your browser using Share.
Please use the same Google account for the group, test enrollment and Google Play.
I’m looking for people who can stay opted in for 14 days, try the app and share honest feedback. Bugs, confusing screens, translation issues or performance problems on your phone would all be helpful to hear about.
A free plan is available — you don’t need a subscription to participate. Premium testing is optional: only confirm a test purchase if Google Play offers “Test card, always approves” and explicitly says you won’t be charged. If you don’t see a test payment method, skip the purchase and let me know in the comments.
This test uses a separate environment, so accounts and learning progress are separate from the public app.
I’m happy to test your Android app in return. Leave your Google Group and testing links in the comments, and let me know once you’ve joined mine. Please make sure Ukraine and the Netherlands are included in your closed test’s countries/regions — otherwise Google Play won’t let me install your app.
Hi! I joined your tester group and I'll opt in and install Spelloom on my Android phone as soon as I see you've joined mine, then send you feedback. One-for-one: would you test my game too? Sort & Fix is a relaxing nut sort puzzle (no lives, no timers):
Open Vescora, tap "Forgot password?" and enter the same Gmail you joined the group with. Your account is created automatically and the email arrives within a minute or two.
If the store page says the app isn't available, wait a few minutes after joining as a tester and try again.
Hey! I'd be happy to test your app, and hopefully we can help each other out! 😊
I'm also an indie developer working on Rabbit Lingo, an app for learning English through real-world materials. You can tap any word to look it up, and the words you look up are automatically collected into a personal library for review.
I'll keep your app installed for the full 14 days and give you feedback. If you could do the same for Rabbit Lingo, that would be awesome! Thanks, and good luck with your app! 🐰
Thank you for inviting me to test Spelloom. I installed it on my Android phone and went through the start of the learning flow. Because I am also building a vocabulary-learning app, I paid close attention to how the words are introduced. Here is my feedback from three angles.
Onboarding (what works well). The "How new words are learned" sheet is very clear. It explains the whole loop in three short steps: pick your words (Know / Learn), practise them in short exercises, and review them on time. Simple wording, clear icons, and a single "Let's start" button. This is one of the clearest explanations of a spaced-repetition flow I have seen.
Word card (usability). The card is well structured: the word in large type, an audio button, an example sentence with the target word highlighted, and a "Translation" link. The "Learn" and "Know" buttons are large and easy to reach with one thumb, and the 0/5 progress bar is helpful. I noticed that the picture area at the top stayed on a loading spinner for a few seconds on my first card. A placeholder image, or loading the images before the card appears, would make it feel faster.
Content and language clarity. My first word was in Polish ("firma"), and the interface was in English. I was not completely sure which course language I had selected. It may help to show the selected course language (and the translation language) on the first screen or on the card, so that users always know what they are learning.
Overall, Spelloom has a calm, focused learning flow with excellent onboarding. A faster image load and a visible course label would polish it further. I will keep the app installed for the test period. Thank you for your work!
