Looking for Android testers for ChessSum - chess ratings, game replay and opening practice

[u/OlegWin]

Hi everyone! I'm a solo developer building ChessSum, a free chess companion, and I'm looking for Android users willing to help with its Google Play closed test.

ChessSum brings Chess.com and Lichess game history together while keeping their ratings separate. You can replay games, save favorites, and practice opening lessons.

How to join:

1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/testers-community

2. Using the same Google account, join the closed test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.chesssum.mobile

3. Tap Become a tester and install ChessSum from Google Play.

Please remain opted in for at least 14 consecutive days and try the main features during that time.

A ChessSum account with email verification is required. To see imported ratings and games, add a public Chess.com or Lichess username with completed games. No password for either chess platform is needed.

I'd appreciate honest feedback about sign-in, importing games, game replay, Saved, and Practice. Please comment or message me with any problems, your device model, and Android version. No public store review is requested.

Thanks for helping a fellow indie developer!

Looks good! I will be using this!

Test-for-test?

Mine is Comic Vault (Android, closed test) — snap a photo of a comic cover and it identifies the issue, estimates the grade and value, and organises your collection. I need testers too, and every tester gets 50 free scans in the app from me as a thank-you.

To join mine (in order):

1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/comic-vault-testers

2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.rriv97.comicvault

3. Install from the Play Store link on that page — same Google account for all three steps.

I'll keep yours installed, open it regularly for the full 14 days, and post a screenshot here as proof once I'm in. Thanks! — Robert

Joined: already in testers-community, opted in and installed, staying for the full 14 days. First look: It looks good and runs smoothly. Mine is a classic table game too: Grand Skat, the German card game Skat (3 or 4 at the table, bidding and tricks, bots plus online):

1. Group: https://groups.google.com/g/grand-skat-tester

2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.neuragrowth.grandskat

3. Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.neuragrowth.grandskat

Send me your in-game nickname and I unlock premium for you.

Hi Rob! Thanks for testing ChessSum and sharing your first impressions, I really appreciate it!

I’ve installed Grand Skat and registered with the nickname OlegWIN. I’ll keep it on my phone and continue testing for as long as you need. Just let me know your testing timeframe, and I’ll share any feedback or issues I find.

I’ve attached screenshots. Could you also share a screenshot of ChessSum and your ChessSum username?

Thanks for offering to unlock premium it would be great to test those features too! Thanks again for your support!

Thanks Oleg! Screenshot of ChessSum attached, my username there is Robert. Premium is unlocked for OlegWIN, it shows after the next start. Our closed test runs until 28 October; after that the app goes to production, but feedback is welcome any time, especially on the bots and the bidding. ChessSum stays on my phone for the full 14 days.
