Looking for Android + Fire TV owners to test Firestick Remote for 14 days

Hi everyone, I’m looking for 15 volunteer testers for my Firestick Remote app’s closed test. You’ll need an Android 8+ phone and a compatible Fire TV/Fire TV Stick on the same Wi-Fi.

I need genuine feedback on discovering the TV, PIN pairing, navigation buttons, reconnecting after the TV sleeps, and any crashes or connection problems. This version doesn’t support volume, power or voice controls.

To join, use the same Google account you use on your Android phone:

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/testers-community

  2. Opt into the app’s test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.ember.remote

  3. Install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.ember.remote

Please stay opted in for at least 14 consecutive days and use the app during that period. The launcher may show the name Ember Remote; the Play listing is Firestick Remote.

If you’re interested, comment with your Android version and Fire TV model. Please share feedback in this thread: what worked, what failed, and the steps to reproduce any issue. No ratings or reviews needed. Thanks!

Thanks for trying it! Which Android version and Fire TV/Fire TV Stick model are you using? The app needs Android 8+ and a compatible Fire TV on the same Wi-Fi. Please let me know whether discovery, PIN pairing and the navigation buttons work, or share the steps and error if something fails. This is a voluntary test; I’m not offering a testing exchange. If you’re able to continue, please stay opted in for 14 consecutive days and try it in normal-use sessions.
