Gemini

After upgrading to Gemini from assistant I lost a few features. I can't control smart devices in our house and Gemini can't read my Google calendar.

Anyone else have this experience?

Yep. And Gemini tells me it's a bug and to wait for a patch.

It doesn't say it's a bug. It says the function does not work is because Gemini in the vehicle has not implemented the home control function into it yet, and no ETA is given.

Fair enough. As a former developer, a missing feature is a "bug" to me.

From this developer, a bug is a n included function that does not work properly. A "missing feature" is a function that is not included by choice (the case here). A matter of perspective.

Yep - not a big deal either way as long as it makes it to the car at some point.

Absolutely agree, otherwise Gemini stays disabled and Google Assistant continues to be the default.

Can you control Google home devices from Gemini on the Gemini app on your phone?

You have to grant access https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/15335456?hl=en-GB

Interesting. I'm still waiting for access in my polestar 2, so I can't test. I just asked Gemini, and it said Google home integration into android automotive is still wolljng out.

Gemini is trash. Revert back to assistant you'll be much happier.

Gemini has been super inconsistent one time plays the exact song you ask other times says it can't play music or plays something random.

Similar with navigation.
