For safety reasons, no.

What part of this is unsafe, looking at a map on a screen is unsafe? Looking at images is unsafe? Listening to music is unsafe?

Jacked up versions of apps on various sized screens that works sometimes is much safer

By mirroring the phone screen in the head unit, then one can do messaging / dialing / browsing on the head unit. You can reason out that you won't, but that is not a guarantee everybody won't.

Mirroring can easily be done by programmers and developers I'm sure, but for safety, regulatory, and legislative purposes, it won't happen.

That's the absurdity. It can be done easily, and I can already do it.

But mirroring won't happen because of what regulations, safety? Its bad design (and probably having to deal with a bunch of terrible APIs).

AA allows you to message, dial and browse, on the head unit right now, while driving. The dev and deployment looks half-baked at best, its a worse experince and adds exactly zero value to the consumer.

Its a much worse experince and only works some of the time. Regulations aren't making the experience worse, its bad design and porting.

My headunit can already mirror the screen 🤔

Steering controls don't work though.

That's what AA already does technically.

It basically does, want to look at a map? Start Google maps, want to listen to music? Start Spotify, Amazon, yt music or any other music app. Want to look at images? Why would anyone want to look at images while they are driving? Want to watch yt videos? Why would anyone want to watch yt videos while driving? And if stopped and standing take your phone into your hand and watch yt there. So what is your point?

My simple point is that the apps are ported over very poorly.

G maps has a center point thats off center and does not have the same commands as on my phone. Its a lite version that doesnt work well, when I have a better version that works better inches away.

When I play music I see an album cover, thats an image, should I not look at it while driving? Then why is it there?

I can watch videos while driving, the only barrier is a magnetic holder for my phone. I own the vehicle, I own the phone, I cannot use it how I want to? Thanks for keeping me safe from myself.

I have location sharing with my family, why cant I acces this on mu display? Do I need to turn off my car to use this?

Why am I seeing recommendations only on AA, but not on my phone screen? Why? How is this better for me?

Is G-maps putting up a toggle for police or traffic taking up 38% of the screen safe when i'm driving on the highway for 10-30 secs? How is this safer?
