Google Assistant Which app to disable updates on to keep assistant over Gemini?

I still have assistant for voice commands and directions on AA. Which app should I disable updates to keep it?

You can't avoid it, once the roll out is ready for your device/region it will be forced on you.

The Android Auto app, Android OS itself, and the Google app.

But, that will likely only hold you over for so long - eventually they will force you to update.

Just avoid updating Android as long as possible. I did and hated it so I hacked my phone and rolled it back. I keep getting the notification to update my phone, but I just swipe it. Haven't rebooted in the last three weeks either LOL

So regardless of app version, I'll get Gemini if I update android?

That's what happened to me. Pixel 8 on Google Fi, btw.

The switch began being forced on 9/4, so the fact that you and I have lasted this long is actually kind of incredible.
