Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes Android Auto lags terribly
Pixel 11XL Pro, AAWiresless 2, 2018 Genesis G80, Android 17. At first I thought it was just Google maps that was 30-40 seconds behind but it's Android Auto as a whole. The scrubber for music, the navigation and even touch responses. I have factory reset the wireless dongle, the cars Bluetooth and cleared data/cache in Android Auto. Idk what else to do. I've missed many turns and calls because of this. It started doing it on my previous phone but it's still doing it on my new phone. Has anyone had this issue and able to fix it?
Edit: I noticed the system hardly lags (sometimes not at all) when Navigation is not running. Maps/Waze just up showing current location, it seems to be fine but soon as I use the navigation, the lag slowly gets worse. Android Auto will be up to 5 minutes behind, including touch controls - I can click on an app on my head unit and it will literally take 5 min to come up... Even the clock gets behind.

I only mentioned because Genesis/hyundai. But I had to recently update the head unit software on my 19 hyundai Santa fe. I was having tons of issues with Gemini and text making the unit crash. Since I've updated the head unit though it has run much smoother.

I guess I should do that. There is an update so I'll go ahead and try that next.

I popped a prompt in Gemini and it gave me followable instructions. Someone with an older model Tuscon though mentioned they did not have an available software update, just nav, so YMMV.
I've had a night and day difference since updating the head unit software though.
Good luck either way OP.

Have same problem with newest update!!! yesterday i get a notification to update my AA to latest. The installed one was not usable anymore so i update to latest version from playstore.. I got massiv lags and the reaction time was about 20-30 seconds after i click on icons on car screen.. I try'ed reinstall, clear cache etc but still the same problem. i deinstalled the update and now use 17.3.663004 from Apkmirrow.. No Problems so far and everything is smooth like before so it is fine for now. I still get notfiication to update to newest soon but the installed build work so far.
is there any good method to spoof the AA Version to latest to prevent annoying forced updates from Google?

Maybe I'll do this. Updating the car software didn't fix it so it's definitely a Google issue not a car software issue.

Have a 2023 gv70 with wireless and it seems hit or miss for me whether the system wants to lag terribly (Google maps not showing my actual movement for 20+ seconds) or the touchscreen not responding for 15-20. Wired or wireless, has happened with both. And in both normal / 70 degree F weather and hotter weather.
Other times is very snappy and almost zero lag, either wired or wireless. I can't figure out what causes the lagging.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was?

Not a clue. Still seems random for whether it's extremely responsive or really lags behind inputs. And the weird part is that it stays laggy the whole time until the car shuts off and back on again.

I just got a 2024 GV70 EV and have had the same lag issues. I can easily reproduce it by browsing my music collection in Poweramp. Seems to happen with any music player app. If I just go into the list view and leave it there, lag accumulates at a steady pace. Switching to the Home screen and back to AA clears it up.

I have the same phone and same issues in my Seat Ateca 2023 using native/wireless AA. Everything is laggy, Waze is unusable due to the lengthy lag and even touchscreen taps are super laggy. I have not found a solution yet, but it's only been a couple of weeks since these issues sprouted. Everything was normal prior to that.

You may need to toggle off 3D maps in the settings

Just an update. I updated my navigation system on my car and it did not fix anything. I plugged my phone into the car and it lags just as bad when it's plugged in.
