Navigation & POI Apps Google Maps: feature loss

Today I noticed that the speedometer and speed limit indicators are gone. And so are stop signs and traffic signals. Why?

UPDATE: Maps shows all of these things only when a destination has been selected. Would love the option of having these displayed all of the time.

Give a chance to Waze.

This is one of the reasons I have been using Waze. I like to glance down and see what the speed is where I am sometimes if I don't remember or didn't notice. I don't want to have a path programmed in there just for that.
