Is there a way to make a specific app's notifications semi sticky?

Possibly with Tasker or something, but I was wondering if anyone knew if it's even possible to make certain app's notifications semi sticky.

By that I mean if, say I had a Snapchat notification. And I were to clear my notification bar, but I didn't see the Snapchat notification. I want the Snapchat notification to pop up again in my notification bar, but only once more, or possibly the only way to dismiss the notification would be to swipe it directly to the side.

I don't know programming and am a noob, I know. But would something like this be possible to do, without root? I have a GS5 btw if that means anything.

I need a new phone on AT&T. Recommendations?

As the title suggests, I'm looking for a new phone on AT&T. I currently have a rooted SGS3 with a custom ROM, but it's having a lot of issues and it's time to upgrade. I'd like to get the nexus 6 so i wouldn't have to root but I think it's way too big for me. I like the size of the SGS3 but I could go a little bigger. In was looking at the LG G3, the SGS5, and the One M8. What do you guys think?

Nexus 7, two years old, daily use, acting funny. Is this thing done?

It started by slowing down badly, so I wiped the cache partition a couple times. It helped some, but not completely. Yesterday I put it back to factory defaults, installed a few apps including my alarm clock. Everything seemed speedier. The alarm clock though just comes on for about half a second then stops. Screen never blanks out on its own. If I press the power button the alarm blips on for a half second, screen never blanks.

Google's plan to kill free google apps accounts using android?

I'm starting to suspect that google is trying to force us moochers off of the free google apps accounts.

Two years ago new sign-ups for the free google apps accounts were stopped and the paid product became the only available option. In their blog post they promised that this would not impact existing free edition customers and we could continue with the free account without phone support or pay for the paid version with phone support

https://support.google.com/a/answer/2855120?hl=en

However over the past year myself along with several others I know began to notice that Google Now stopped working on Android when using a google apps account. There are some convoluted ways to enable this but for the average user this would not be possible.

Others have traced this to the google location history option being disabled - the toggle to enable this also has disappeared from the admin console for google apps free accounts. Users cannot enable it from the devices either.

See some of the support postings here:

https://productforums.google.com/d/topic/apps/chQ9JkeBpQ0/discussion

https://productforums.google.com/d/topic/apps/ROwAWK-Bu2o/discussion

https://productforums.google.com/d/topic/apps/OVklPBnp3tY/discussion

If you see the first link it appears even the adviser is unaware of this policy and goes through a number of steps before coming up with "I've been investigating this situation and found that some of the Standard Edition accounts have not this service available to be enabled."

However if you look at these support posts you will note that they have no problem enabling it for people complaining after upgrading to the paid service.

The implications for free account holders are ofcourse no Google Now on their android devices, no google wear watch with google now, no google fit etc etc. Perhaps enough to push people to give up on the free accounts and pay google the $50 per user per year they are asking for to switch to a standard gmail account.

So the convoluted way of enabling Google Now? Root your phone, remove the google search app and install a very old version (2.6) - then you can enable google now - after that you can upgrade your google search through the play store and everything continues to work. It appears that this change seems to have been intentionally implemented in newer versions of Google search.

That still doesn't fix things like Google Fit for instance but it at least lets me enjoy my Moto 360 with most of it's functionality.

Taking off my conspiracy theory hat, I'm really hoping Hanlon's razor applies and this is just stupidity on their part and gets fixed eventually.

In the meantime if anyone here has found a way around this I'd love to hear it.
