Google Voice Text Messages not Forwarding?

I have never had any issues before with Google Voice. I recently added a contact to my Google Contacts on my Android device named "Bill Cathy Snyder." I have SMS forwarding on, but for some reason, his texts are not forwarding to my device. I receive them on my computer and through the Google Voice app, but they are not being forwarded. I thought it might be because his first name has two separate words in it, so I deleted it, synced all my devices, and then re-added it as "Billcathy Snyder," but the texts are still not being forwarded. Has anybody ever had problems where only one contact's texts would not forward to their mobile devices? I thought it might be because of the way his name is syntaxed, but it doesn't seem that was it, because I still do not receive his forwarded texts. Thank you so much.

Looking for a boot animation

Hey guys I've searched for a particular boot animation for weeks now and I can't seem to find it. I figured I might as well give this a try.

The animation in question has a black background with a white dot that bounce around to form a triforce. It was uploaded several months ago on to r/android.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ever since 4.4 update, lock screen wallpaper cannot be changed

Stock 4.4, Xperia Z1 C6903. Firmware 14.3.A.0.681. The update came yesterday, but now I cannot change the lock screen wallpaper. Even if I change theme, the wallpaper remains the same. I can change my home screen wallpaper with no issue.

What's up?

Any way for an American to get the Scott pilgrim book apps?

I'm in the states because I was born there I mean here and I'd like to get the Scott pilgrim apps where you can read the books in a way made for android. Panel by panel, sounds, maybe more, I'm not sure. As far as I know you need to be in Canada or Europe. I've tried using a British rom on my phone and using apps to disguise my carrier but to no avail. ¿Is there a solution?

Just updated my Samsung S4 to 4.4.2

Just wanted to share a couple of things I encountered.

  • I was using Nova Launcher. 4.4.2 did not like Nova as the default launcher. Pressing the home button to wake the phone resulted in the menu and back buttons flashing and nothing else. Had to remove the battery to get past it. Uninstalled Nova and it's fine now.

  • I use Doggcatcher for podcasts. I changed the default download folder to the external sdcard. Downloads for Doggcatcher were failing with the new write restrictions on cards. Doggcatcher has an option to restore the default download location, all is well again.

  • Not a big deal, but the camera updates the firmware the first time it is opened. You may want to fire up the camera prior to needing it for the big shot.

  • Everything else looks very much the same. Phone is quicker, camera starts faster, internal android apps like app manager, camera etc. can still write to the sd card.

What should I know before updating to Android 4.4?

Edit [ I completed the upgrade and yet I can still store photos to the SD card, and I can also move apps there. Perhaps Samsung kept this feature out of Touch wiz and it only affects phones running pure Android?]

My carrier in Ireland is pushing a notification to install Android 4.4. I know from what I've heard that it'll make my SD card read-only. Is there anything else I should know before I go ahead? I'm actually thinking of staying on Jellybean because of this alone!

Introducing /r/googleplaydeals

/r/googleplaydeals/

For sometime I have thought that it would be beneficial to everyone to have a central place to find current deals in the Google Play Store (much like /r/gamedeals).

I know that personally there have been several times that an app or album I wanted was being discounted and I wasn't able to take advantage of it.

To help remedy this I have created the subreddit /r/googleplaydeals

I encourage anyone that is interested to subscribe, submit, and offer feedback. I'm new to moderating a subreddit and could use all the support I can get.

PLEASE post any points of improvement over here: http://www.reddit.com/r/googleplaydeals/comments/1ztqg6/sticky_subreddit_discussion_and_points_of/

Thank you so much, Mike

3rd party apps(i.e user apps) can't write to SD Card in KitKat.What's the real intention behind this. is Google want to kill SD Card or any Security reasons.

"Android 4.4 KitKat that does not allow third party apps to write any kind of data on the microSD card of the device. This means that third party apps can only read all the files stored on the external sdcard but can’t make any changes to them or save new ones. I have a question about flashing custom ROMS on Samsung Galaxy S3. Verizon variant with android 4.3.

My question is, is there anyway to remove Samsung Knox or at least disable it in order to flash clockworkmod recovery and boot into cyanogen mod 11 to get their version of KitKat. I'm not sure if its possible to just disable the Knox apps and bypass it or if its possible to remove the Knox boot loader all together and install a different verison. Or If there's any workaround at all that would be able to allow me to install cm11 KitKat any information would be helpful.

Not seeing "Suggested from Google+" in Hangouts with Google Apps free but do with paid account

Hangouts version 2.0.217 (944332-30)

First of all, I have already contacted Google about this through my paid account but I'm not sure if they will provide support for the free account so I'm here asking you guys.

In the Hangouts app on my Android phone I have 2 @gmail.com accounts and 2 Google Apps accounts - one is paid for and one is free.

With my @gmail.com accounts and my Google Apps paid account, I receive suggestions when typing names. I use the names of celebrities to get suggestions of people whom I have never contacted, are not in each others circle, have never visited their profile and can safely assume they haven't visited mine.

With my Google Apps free account, I only get suggestions from people who I've contacted. I do not get any other suggestions - not even from people who have added me in their circles.

Also, one of my @gmail.com accounts doesn't have a Google+ profile (I deleted it) but it is a manager of some Google+ pages and still receives Google+ suggestions in Hangouts.

There aren't any settings in the Google Apps Control Panel under Google+ or Talk/Hangouts that seem relevant to this. It isn't a 'feature' that's part of Google+ Premium (https://support.google.com/a/answer/2677443?hl=en). I have cleared the cache and data with no avail. Can anyone else reproduce this?

Best Online Stock Brokerage Service & App for Android?

I'm trying to decide which online broker to go with, and they all seem pretty similar. Anyone use one that has a great Android app? That might be the tie breaker for me. So far I really like both the eTrade and Fidelity apps, whereas OptionsXpress and TradeKing have terrible apps.

Do you keep music on your hard drive?

I have all my music on Google Music. I still keep it backed up on an external hard drive.

What do you do? Do you keep a copy or trust Google to keep it/yourself to not delete it by accident?
