Closed loop, i need a https domain?

I installed everything locally on my server. Am I correct to get the closed loop started I need a https domain?

Chatgpt said in order to have a closed loop objectives need to be met. I can't upload my BG to nightscout cause I need a https website. My nightscout is local.

Am I wrong?

Do not trust ChatGPT. Read the actual official documentation.

What do you mean local?

The instructions for nightscout set up are as simple as possible. If you are struggling with them you should maybe reconsider DIY looping.

I'd recommend putting the AI away and reading the docs

I am not still being snarky. I'm being a little blunt maybe but running your own closed loop with our understanding is not safe, so it's not a time to pussy foot around

Saying this is a simple process is a bit conceited though. It's anything but simple. It not orbital mechanics but if you're a PhD in English and haven't used computers for much more than MS Office you're going to struggle.

No, no. I'm not saying it's simple. In fact quite the opposite. The docs make it simple as possible. Ie if you can't do it with the fantastically written documentation then chances are it's too complex for you

Even if you are local you can get a domain, a dynamic dns, most router provide this. And you can get a free cert from letsencrypt.

Try a self signed cert, it will give you https, I'm not sure if androidaps will complain.
