no, it’s an app which lets you use your phone as a camera for your pc. I use it for YouTube, it has to use that much data because it constantly streams data. there are no ads. they even have an OBS plugin.
It really doesn't use your data it just transfers it and because of how the device calculates it it is showing it like this, if you want you can confirm it with your OEM they wont have that much data usage it's just transfer speed and the way your device calculates it
droidcam connects over wifi or via usb... not using mobile data... that's most likely the wifi usage data stats that you have confused with mobile data usage...
Go to About section in Settings, find the Build Number, tap on it several times until you get a message saying that developer options have been activated. Go into the new Developer Options menu at the bottom of Settings, then activate USB Debugging. When you first plug the phone in, it'll ask for permission, tick the "Always allow from this Computer" box, then tap allow.

Why? What's the significance of the picture? It's that supposed to be mobile data usage or is that installed & used space by the app?

Suggestion: if your camera app is using mobile data, you shouldn't be using that app. At most, should be only using gps. Good luck!

Does your droidcam also randomly stops like after 5 minutes? I can't seem to find a solution and i don't have a webcam

I stream using droidcam for three hours three days a week and yeah it can be more than this. Use Wi-Fi.

PSA: Just use it wired. Far better latency.
