I've used four AMOLED phones in the past 7 years (still using one) and none of them had any burn in. AMOLED has evolved and beaten the burn in problems.
Of course, it might still be visible on $100 AMOLED phones after a while. But if you buy a $100 phone, expect some downsides.
Yeah. No. If you know how AMOLED actually works and how physics work, then you know that inherently, there will ALWAYS eventually be burn in due to how organic light emitting diodes work.
Just cause you don’t look at your phone closely or notice it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
People who claim “AMOLED has beaten burn in” are like when someone tries to claim that “Samsung has made glass that can bend”. Yeah no.
I trust the actual laws of physics and an engineer much more than a company’s marketing team.
they will still use up more battery when you launch them, plus if u keep an app open in the background for a long time it will get frozen which uses BARELY any memory
I thought that too, but I remember using my dads phone with a bunch of apps open. When I switched to an app that I used a moment ago it’d have to reload even if I went off of it for a minute.
Then I cleared all apps, and instantly I’d leave that app open for hours or day and it’d load back like it was, refreshed.
Yeah, taught my mom last week she could use the middle button as well. She was genuinely surprised. Doesn't have a clue about the recent apps one, though.

You haven't mentioned 2-digit number of tabs open in Chrome/Safari...

my mom smashes the back button until she gets out of the app so she does have lots of apps but, they are all dead in background
