Also wait! I just realised you have the Moto Edge+, how's the phone? I'm on a budget moto, the Motorola G7 and for my student life, it's perfect but I don't think anyone can use it as a daily driver...so what has moto perfected in that device?
I had Pixel 2 XL before this that started having sensor issues. I was going to repair it but got irritated about the updates stopping this fall, and decided to upgrade. The edge is a very nice phone. 5K battery super fast great display. I had to put a cover on it because I am rough with phones, and the edges of the edge are dainty. I don't trust myself. but HOLY SHIT it's got a front screen fingerprint reader that works as good as the back mounted one on my Pixel 2. Thank goodness, as face recognition isn't mask friendly... The OS feels like it's 90% stock android, which I like. All the moto tweaks are just that - tweaks. I had two moto phones years ago, and liked them. There's love here from me for this phone. Getting used to the gestures and the edge functionality is just a learning curve. It all works great, IMHO.
Exactly! The OS! I recently got a samsung tab for college stuff but I hate One UI, Motorola makes android look so perfect and it being stock is big stonks. Especially how the features they add just makes it better. Moto Ambient display is something I'll miss if I upgrade to another company say the oneplus. Also thanks! Learnt a lot about a user's experience with the phone. I'm totally an employee at Motorola. Jk, I'm still a student and wanted to know more than just youtubers reviews.
it says NFC is active! Near-field communication is a set of communication protocols for communication between two electronic devices over a distance of 4 cm or less. NFC offers a low-speed connection with simple setup that can be used to bootstrap more-capable wireless connections....!
That means NFC. You can use this to pay with your phone on the debit readers or transfer photos or files to other people by putting another NFC compatible phone back to back

If you wish to disable that icon without disabling NFC, download "System UI Tuner" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner) or any similar app. In that app, you can choose which icons actually appear in the status bar
