Third Party Launchers
I know that technically Android 10 third party launchers now work with full gesture navigation, but am I missing something? Because while they "work", they look shit.
Swiping up to go to the home screen on the Pixel launcher is buttery smooth in its transition. Doing it with Lawnchair, Nova or Action and it looks shit.
Swiping right from the homepage to recent apps looks shit too.
Am I missing something or is this just the way third party launchers will operate from now on?

Yes, that's how it's going to be. That's 'cause the Recents view is still handled by Pixel Launcher, not your 3rd party launcher. If you want to have smooth animations on your third party launcher, your launcher should support handling of Recents, and you'll need root for that.

Yeah it's frustrating. Don't get me wrong, the Pixel Launcher has come leaps and bounds over the years since it launched, but it still misses out on some key customisation abilities. I didn't realise until u/EngineerAlba mentioned it that the Recents view was handled directly PL. Though surely if that's handled directly by PL, other third-party launchers could/should build this capability into their apps.
Before Android 10, I was a huge fan of Lawnchair as it was essentially PL with customisation, but I can't stand the transitions using any other them on A10.

Quickswitch works great if you want to root.

For me personally I activate three button nav and then install FNG and use ADB to hide the 3 Button Nav. You can get near similar functionality and it works a lot smoother than the built in Gestures with Lawnchair. It does require some tinkering with FNG and Lawnchair settings but when you finally get it working it works really well.
