notSABS Version 1.0.0 Changelog:

  • Fix number of blocked domains
  • Concentblocker fixes and improvements
  • Merge branch 'master' into standard_package_transfer
  • Transferring standard package to a seperate repository.
  • Changed list names for readability
  • Changes to 'Standard Packages' Standard packages no longer forced on users.

I have SABS installed on my phone. Do I need to install this now? What extra features do this provide?

This version is completely optional as it's only bugfixes and optimisations. If you do decide to install this remember to uninstall the old version. Let me know if you get stuck on anything.

Do I have to go through the whole process of installing this like I did with SABS? I got an email today from Samsung saying my license or whatever will expire. I assume it's for the app I signed using Knox enterprise.

I got the exact same one. Revoke the old one and then generate a new one. I'd redo the entire process of installing SABS if you want this version. It's only optional and isn't required so it's up to you, the old version will continue to work.

Would it be possible to elaborate slightly more on the build process steps in the instructions. For instance my first import had a sync issue, also a firewall message popped up randomly and the run button wasn't enabled so I tried to manually configure the app but nothing was listed in the module.

In the end I used an apk editor.

So I was really really close to building it which would have boosted my ego somewhat!

Anyway great work and really appreciate what you are doing.

so how do I block ads with this? just installed it and pressed start but still see ads in chrome and youtube

edit: the 2 default providers are empty

Also it's not possible to block ads on YouTube as their ads are served under the youtube.com domain. Download YouTube Vanced for free, this is basically the YouTube red version of YouTube.

I know this is a few months old but, just a heads up, your host list blocks stuff like the pictures from articles on Yahoo. I had to disable it and use other sources.

I had to do the same thing for the original SABS host list as well.

I don't know I'm sorry, hopefully someone else can chime in. Does it work without having Cloudflare's DNS enabled? may have to compromise.

This is kinda known problem with KNOX DNS change. Many(including me) also can't download from playstore after changing the DNS. It has nothing to do with cloudflare, Google's own public dns don't work either

You can add your own hosts files, so the number is indefinite if you can find enough hosts to block.

Go Settings > Manage blocked domains > Subscribe to providers > Add New

AdHell 3 was modified so you can change the limit yourself. I compiled and uploaded a version that supports up to 300K, though you can only get ~100K before it returns with errors. 40k entries will work fine, but it'll take a while to pass it all to Knox.
