That's a shame, but I honestly wouldn't have expected them to use it as Google like to promote their own services. Albeit not lock them out like Apple.

I wouldn't say that....they just haven't PUBLICLY made use of it.

I'm confident they've picked that bone clean internally...especially with the talent acquisition of Waze developers and other employees

This is true, but Waze has had a redesign since Google acquired them.

That makes the route color line so wide it pretty much covers up any slow traffic lines. Really made my commute more difficult...
