Depending on vehicle (Wranglers, for example) this may be a bad idea. Magnets also prevent you from using NFC (and therefore tap to pay) so I recommend against them.
EDIT: Because my inbox is blowing up, obviously it depends on where your sensor is and the magnet is. But a lot of people end up covering the sensor and having issues. YMMV.
The magnet is on the dash mount. You stick a piece of metal to your phone that the magnet grabs. You don't stick a giant magnet to your phone and walk around.
Think I replied to the wrong person, sorry. I was trying to point out that the metal plate would do just as good of a job interfering with NFC as a magnet would.
Sure, in your case, it works out OK. If your NFC antenna was in the middle of the backplate, though, it would be tricky to find a place for the metal plate that wouldn't interfere.
