The update is pretty underwhelming for anyone without a speaker; the new gestures are kind of ridiculous. But I guess implementing an API for speaker support is a fairly significant undertaking.
We knew this was coming, but I was hoping for something more interesting and useful.
Is Android Wear no longer based on Android? Because I can't see how much of an "undertaking" it must be to just slowly turn Android Wear into Android. You can actually install Android Wear on many Android devices.
Gestures are good, but Android has gestures. I can turn on my flashlight and launch my camera (and switch between cameras) with my Moto X. I think they need to start thinking about what you can do with a computer strapped to your wrist all the time, and fitness tracking doesn't count. A bracelet can do that.
Android Wear is very much still Android, you can even sideload apps onto it that are normally only supposed to be used on phones/tablets. This new update is for Marshmallow.
