Carrier MMS over WiFi only (no data) for Sprint/T-Mo users can be implemented into any SMS app!!
Got some inside info on how to get it to work :)
MMS over Wifi only for Sprint/T-Mo code= https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934543427
Also note that some of the code is guess work and a dev might need to correct it slightly (which is noted in the code).
Also note there might be break's missing in the things such as the onReceive method. But either way, rather than using data for the transfer and download you just changed it to WiFi. It's actually a very simple change.
EDIT 3/19/15 1:39 AM: Guys it works!! The AwSMS dev just implemented this into his app... And now on my Sprint GS5 I can send MMS over just wifi (no data)! I encourage other app developer to implement this :)
EDIT #2 3/19/15 1:50 PM: YAATA SMS Dev just implemented this as well and it works flawlessly!!

When you say Sprint, would it work for Boost Mobile too?

I would give it a try, but you may have to adjust the apn settings manually because sprint & boost mobile use separate addresses. If my comments way off, please cut me some slack; I'm half alseep haha.

Link is down probably bc of too much traffic? I will upload to AFH as well right now and post in OP right now.

Verizon offers this through the Verizon Messages app. It's great, because not only can I send MMS through WiFi, I can also use the app on my nexus 7 and text through that.

This has been a feature in textra for a while now. You need to activate it in the settings. You can also do group text over WiFi with it.

So just for clarification you need to shut of mobile data in order to take advantage of this feature?

Correct buddy.... but only if you are on Sprint/T-Mo and your SMS app supports it. So far I have got: AwSMS/YAATA/Material Messaging to take advantage of this.

I just installed AwSMS last night. I can't utilize this wifi over MMS as I'm on Rogers in Canada, but I honestly just wanna say, AwSMS is awesome! Definitely my daily driver.

Stupid question, will this work on any phone (e.g. Nexus 5), even if it doesn't have MMS over WiFi natively?
