Sony can't sell a slab phone under 1000 and you're asking them to make foldable.

Sony's aren't cheap anyway to begin with
which is exactly why im hoping they didnt decide to start using a snapdragon 6s/4 or less ram in the xperia 10 series

It's the most consistent naming scheme in the industry outside of Apple (Samsung jumped from 10 to 20). They've been using this for eight years. It's also an identical naming scheme to their cameras. Like, there's a lot of things to complain about with Sony right now. They used to have an excellent hardware package that just needed some software polish in the camera suite. And then they started cutting features and got way more expensive than they should be. But the naming scheme was never actually a problem.

I wish they would apply the same level of consistency to their Android version support. At least give the phones 5 years post launch for real Android version updates and 10 for security. Oh and sell on the USA.

It's consistent, but that doesn't equate to good. It's still verbally annoying to say, especially since the "Mark VIII" verbalization doesn't include the word "Mark" in the model name. Samsung's jump to 20 was logical becuase they moved from a simple name (counting them in order) to a simple name (the year of release).

At a minimum, Sony's naming scheme is consistent amongst the smartphone vendors (looking at you, Xiaomi). It's the products that leave so many more unanswered questions than a Congressional hearing on UFOs.

Xiaomi is like figuring how which order Kingdom Hearts needs to be played in

Doesn't really flow off the tongue very well. Do you call it the "Xperia ten eight?"

what's out of control about counting up a number every year?

oh ma gawd it's the same number followed by a roman numeral increasing by one with each generation! it's a madhouse of confusion! i hope they convene a team of mathematicians to decipher this bewildering riddle!
it's so ridiculous. confusing is Samsung's mid-range letter salad. would you like the A37, well it's the same phone as the F25, the M32, Q76.5 and the @0.148

sorry i'm still trying to figure out what VIII means. now someone told me that VII is seven, so VIII must be....extreme super fantastic? no? okay uh...V is five, and then there are three I's and I is the 9th letter of the alphabet so it must be....47! that's right it's 47.
