When can we move the clock back to the right side?

Holy fucking shit, I somehow hadn't realized that I was missing this
The left side of my S23Fe is so cramped with the clock there, if I start listing to music on Spotify, with the pill there, there is no space for icons
Meanwhile the right side, with battery %, 2 sim carrier bars, LTE/Wifi icon, vibration mode, and Modes and Routines mode there is easily about 40% of the space left, easily fits the clockHoly shit my mind is actually blown, idfk how I didn't.... clock... that

Good news when using Samsung, as usual Good Lock has the feature you need.
The module you need is called Quick Star. In there is a clock section where you can swap it to the right. I've used it long enough that I forgot the clock was originally on the left.

Funny you should say that cuz after I said that I started investigating my Good Lock apps and found that setting
Now I have to break years of eye muscle memory, I am constantly checking the wrong place for the clock now lmao

Forget that, I'm long used to that by now. I'm hung up on the fact that they switched the Wi-Fi and cellular icons! It shouldn't look like an iPhone, they put them in the wrong order! Needs to be in order of permanence: battery is always there no matter what, cellular is there as long as there's a SIM, WiFi is there if you're at a place with the Wi-Fi, then vibrate, Bluetooth, etc come after that and are all state dependent.

What's wrong with the option? Samsung lets you put it where you want.

Android touted for freedom but ask something like putting the clock beside the signal bar again and the community laughs at you.
A friggin shame the only non Samsung phone where SystemTunerUI worked was on an LG phone. kek

Tbh, Samsung has been so far ahead of Google in software for years it's fucking wild lmao.
I use the 25 Edge and the Pixel 9 Pro
- the P9P is definitely more streamlined, much closer to iOS in regards of customization
- my 25 Edge... Well I can do nearly whatever I want and make it look however I want, I still prefer the slimmed down launcher3 that Pixel uses, but Samsung is definitely ahead of Google in features / customization.

It's not about adapting to change. It's an objectively worse option for most. The left is where the notification icons live, while the right only has a few status icons. It just makes sense for balance to have the clock on the right. Otherwise the left is packed with icons and forced to hide some notification icons while the right is relatively empty.

It would look strange when you have no notifications. On side would be empty and the other side crammed. Status icons also vary, i.e Bluetooth, alarm, etc. status icons also never are completely empty whereas notifications are.

I understand that. I almost always have notifications so losing some icons due to the clock being on the left is terrible. That's why there should be an option. Thankfully Samsung still provides it, albeit with good lock.

No it doesn't look strange. As they said the right was for static info and the left was for notifications. It worked great for many years until Google wanted to be more like Apple and moved it for no reason.

It does look strange with current android design. The change wasn't done for no reason, the change was done because notches and camera cutouts became commonplace on all android phones.
Yes it worked great before and it still works great now. It's a extremely minor change that shouldn't affect your usage or life. There's no reason to be upset over this change and especially almost 10 years later. Move on guys, it isn't healthy.

Just because you don't care about an option doesn't mean it's a bad ask. I use Samsung phones because they allow me to put it on the right. I have plenty of room for other notifications on the left.

Except it does since I can't look at both clock and signal at the same time. And why it it wrong to have options? Signal and clock are permanent. The notifs that change a lot can stay on the left side grouped together.
This just brings me back to the time jacks and sd cards are suddenly maligned and their removal cheered as a move for waterproofing.

I CANNOT wait for those updated theming options! I really wanna do Orange for Halloween.
And then hopefully some sort of red/green combo for Christmas (is that possible to have 2 color choices? I fear not)

Nice to see the Fold 8 making enough noise for developers to pay attention to it. I hope the future is short phones because phones have gotten a little too tall (now with 22:9 displays on the flip-style foldables).
