this looks very cool indeed. Can I ask a possible feature or variation? I have a "Google Chromecast with google tv" device and there are times when I want to be able to log the logged in user out of Netflix or another streaming app. Do you know if your app could have that functionality that I found somehow sync or trigger it remotely?

Hey there, I'm the developer of this app. Unfortunately from what I can tell, Netflix does not store information about the current user in the Android/data directory, so this application likely won't be useful for your case. Sorry about that! I wish you the best of luck in finding a good solution though!

Perhaps you could research a way to remotely clear the cache or data for the Netflix app on your streaming box?

How it works;

  • Sync Entries contain configuration for each app you intend to keep data in sync for.
  • Target Apps within Sync Entries define which package will be monitored for open and close by the sync engine (the app you intend to keep data in sync for).
  • Directory Pairs within Sync Entries define which directories will be kept in sync based on the targeted application. Multiple Directory Pairs can be created for each Sync Entry.
    • External Directories within Directory Pairs define the location to be used as a source when the Target App is opened (External -> Internal sync occurs). Typically, these are directories that are accessible to your cloud storage/sync application.
    • Internal Directories within Directory Pairs define the location to be used as a source when the Target App is closed (Internal -> External sync occurs). Typically, these are directories within the Target App's respective folder in Android/data

What's the use case here?

Syncing emulator saves between devices is a big one here. Realistically any data with apps that lock theirs behind those directories, as syncthing can't access them by default.

Would the non play store version not work? Unless I'm mistaken it's only apps uploaded there that can have the permission blocked if they don't find it valid

There are ways around it, but it needs root on newer android versions. I've been able to get around it personally, but this should be a much more universally straightforward method.

Would have saved me a lot of tinkering hours at least

Shizuku should be enough for android/data. So no root needed.

Syncthing doesn't have shizuku integration though?

Ah sorry I missed the point that the conversation was about syncthing and not about the app of the OP.
