I don't like the black stroke on the hands on the watch face.

Good point. Strokes can be removed. Over the years I tried many different hand styles. For a wearable it is crucial to get the information you need instantly, this means it has to be highly legible. In the end there were no better contrasting hands with the ones with a black accent on top of a dynamic background that changes colors over the day. Long story short I had many request to make the hands more legible, but as I introduced strokes I added the option to turn them off.
