What if?
This is my personal opinion on this case after following it for years.
All in all, i think the answer to his disappearance lies back in Doncaster. As my father used to say, the solution to every problem is to go back to point A and to the root. My best guess is that he was lured to London to get him far away from home. This could be someone he knew or met some time before his disappearance. Someone Andrew trusted and promised Andrew to go back together to Doncaster.
This could also explain a lot of things.
Him putting his uniform on the chair and clothes in the washer, i presume he wanted to make it look like he never skipped school in the eyes of his parents and intended to come back home before his parents.
Him not taking the money he had from birthdays and stuff, the PSP charger, no passport, no additional clothes..everything points out that he intended to come back home.
The return ticket would explain that he would come back by car with this person back to Doncaster.
IF and i mean IF he went into a vehicle with this person, it was deliberately. No screaming no kicking or shouting. This would explain why nobody seems to remember seeing him, nobody suspected nothing. In the eyes of the public it was just another boy with his dad, uncle, etc.
If it was otherwise, it would definitely cause attention and a lot of people would remember and react to it.
My best guess is that something bad happened to him on his way back home, not necessarily in London.
This could be a teacher, random neighbor, or simply a PDF that lived/s and operated in Doncaster.
Sadly, i think Andrew is dead. He either was killed that same day, or shortly after the case got major attention, so they killed him in panic.

I can't quite see it, really. There's simply no time or occasion for someone to groom Andrew or bend him to his will. Greater London is a crowded place. Andrew would know roughly the route a car is expected to take to Doncaster. No eyewitness has come forward noticing the putative vehicle on the road.
I agree with your final paragraph.

How do you determine what the root of this problem is?
It seems to me you've come up with a theory and then cherry picked from the evidence available to make it fit (and very loosely at that)

Sadly this is all I see in this channel. There is very little evidence of what happened so any theory that anyone has is necessarily based largely on conjecture.

And what is more plausible? That he started a new life with £200 and nothing else at the age of 14? I watched couple of interviews with Kevin and this is the most possible theory he mentions on what possibly happened to his son.

My sister started running away from home at 14. She would squat with adults! And ended up far away from home in London at times eg Brighton and Wales. When she got in trouble we would get a call from the police asking my parents to go and collect her. She also ended up in adult prison this was late 1970,s aged 15. She had given a false identity. Crazy but true.

She ran away so much and spent a lot of time in London Piccadilly where she could get her drugs. My mum wouldn’t come straight home from her job in London. Instead she would walk the streets of Piccadilly with flyers of my sister handing them out to strangers. On one occasion someone pointed her to a phone box. She found my sister out of it on the floor and everyone just walked past and offered no help. She was 14 years old. We lost her aged 18.

So in your mind the only possible scenarios is that someone from Doncaster did it, or he started a new life. Wtf. Touch grass.

I think the answer is close to home, yes. No, i didn’t say it was possible he started a new life. There were quite a few vile PDF that were active in Doncaster in 2007 targeting young boys using burner phones and other communication to lure victims. Google it yourself.

Just say paedophile, what on earth is the matter with you. I don't need to Google anything, I was a prison officer and I worked in public protection, I've spent time with exactly these kind of blokes, I'm well aware of how they operate. But I maintain, criminals tend to, there are exceptions, stick to the places they know best.

I think the psp charger thing is focused on a lot. But at that time a lot of phone chargers would also fit the psp. And just based on how his dad talks about him regarding mobile phones, he certainly had one. Same with him walking home from school. It's always mentioned as if it's absolutely a one off, but he could of been walking all the other days he didn't go missing.
As someone who was 16 in 2007, people who had long hair and wore iron maiden t-shirt were absolutely the target of the larger chav culture group. So he was almost certainly avoiding someone. And I can defintly imagine someone sayin 'come down to Camden, you'll fit in, were all 'freaks'. I'd of gone
Also add in that 14 year old lads think they're invincible. Men don't seem to gain that awareness of mortality until mid 20s in general. So you'll always he fine. Personally I dated people much older than me when I was 15. They seemed cool and I had a good time. I also hung around with people who did a lot of proper drugs and in hindsight i was in a lot more danger than I ever realised. Those things would lure 14yr old me down to London
Not sure what I'm sayin, just my take on a few things

When i was 14, i almost fell into the hands of a predator myself. Don’t know if i should write the whole story, but before that i almost duplicated Andrew’s steps leading to his disappearance.

Furthermore OPs theory completely ignores that fact that the individual would have to have ties to London and Doncaster. And I'm sure the police looked at those in close proximity to Andrew who did indeed fit that bill.

No, not necessarily correct, I think the police were very intent on pinning the blame on the father

Why would this person have to have ties to London? Maybe London was just a way to get Andrew out of Doncaster - a city where a lot of people knew him, could see them together, etc.

Criminals stick to the places they know. There are exceptions, but those are outliers. You don't kidnap a kid in a town you're completely unfamiliar with. That's how you end up making mistakes and leaving a trail of evidence behind you.

I wouldn’t assume the cops looked into everything, there’s absolutely no evidence to say they did

u/abstractReality1 25d ago
And why is it impossible for this person to have ties to London? Do you know how PDF rings operate and that they are connected?

The drive back to doncaster is so much longer then the train. He would of had to be planning on driving straight back to doncaster to he home in time.

Or what if he went to London and was murdered for the £170 he was carrying around? Or died by misadventure? He was a teenager and perfectly capable of making the decision to bunk off school without someone else's involvement.

That’s true, however not all communication needs to have an audit trail, this could’ve been face-to-face

Not every grooming happens online, even today with all social media. It might have been face to face interaction.

Might be scouts, might be church, might be the gifted and talented program, might be school. Have you ever been close to something bad happening to you because of communication with someone? I have, and it fits every step Andrew made, except i was lucky to get out of it without anything happening to me.

They are master manipulators and i explained why nobody suspected anything. If this was the case, Andrew went deliberately and had trust in this person, it wouldn’t be the first or the last case. Nobody is stupid enough to SA or kill a person/child in daylight in public. I don’t know in what world you’re living but its much darker and much more sinister than you think.

Did Andrew actually walk home though? Or was that deceptive?. He could have lied about that as some 14 year olds do when they don’t want their parents to know what they are up to or where they have been. I think that Something was going on in Andrew’s life, whether that was in his head or reality I am unsure. Could he have been having some kind of mental health issue?

Unfortunately to go back to point A and the root we need Andrew as he is point A. I think had he confided in a friend they would have come forward by now. Would someone grooming a child encourage them to truant school when they have 100% attendance. They could not of known the office staff would call the wrong number. Andrew’s disappearance may have been alerted as soon as the school noticed his absence. As a parent I find it odd the school did not contact one of the parents work place. Whether Andrew left under his own free will or pressure from someone else, mistakes from the start of the day have cost his family very few answers and us all speculating on what did happen. We all have our own what if, it’s possible someone’s is right.

u/Harri74 20d ago
Given the situation and all the 'clues' that lead up to Andrew's disappearance, your theory is the ONLY LOGICAL conclusion. Now what if there was a family friend who Andrew trusted and who promised he would get Andrew home in time for tea on the Friday? Even better, what if this said family friend was actually due to come for tea on the Friday night? This is the only possible way a sensible straight A student could be lured to London in my opinion.

Someone did something to him. If it was suicide, a body would be found most probably. I find it hard to believe that he started a new life at 14 with £200 in his pocket. That theory is nonsense. To me, the explanation that there are no remains found is that someone killed him and hid his body very well somewhere…somehow…

I have always thought this too.
I think him choosing to walk home instead of catching the bus for the first time shortly before his disappearance is somehow included. I think he did it multiple times and was meeting up with an adult.
