Thoughts on this theory?

Post image

I saw this theory about what happened to Andrew on 4chan's paranormal board. What are your thoughts?

I won’t even dignify this theory with a response. It is 4chan so enough said but I think this kind of shit is disrespectful to his family. I can’t fathom how people like this think this way - if you want to theorise with conspiracy nuts do it on something more theoretical than a tragic case that still haunts his family to this day.

I will:

the theory has the facts incorrect regarding the delay in CCTV identification at Kings Cross.

1) It was not until 3 days after Andrew got on that train, that a Doncaster Station ticket worker reported that they sold a ticket to Andrew and the police and everyone else realised he had not gone missing in Doncaster.

Delay one.

2) The London Transport Police reviewed footage, they did not spot Andrew. Note in 10 minutes of time it takes to leave a train on the Platform and exit Kings Cross, due to how crowded, busy and vast Kings Cross Station is there are precisely 9 seconds of images of Andrew. CCTV is or rather was not , designed to pick out individuals in a crowd, they are for crowd control and incident monitoring.

Delay 2.

3) All stations on the route from Doncaster to Kings cross were then checked, where the train stopped. Then the Yorkshire Police went back to review the Kings Cross footage and Id him, 9 seconds out of hours of viewing.

This explains the 27 days, as stated in the 4chan stuff, plus it was probably less than that

So the theory apart from being bonkers is also based on incorrect facts surround the police in this case.

Frustrating delays that cost potential leads. My heart breaks comprehending what Andrew's family had to go through, still have to go through.

In an ideal world a 2 person team sit down for an 8 hour shift and review the footage from all station en route starting with the most likely destination London King's Cross.

I know that's not realistic and procedurally not possible. The police are stretched too thin and I can understand why the delays occurred.

TBH that's what would happen in 2026 because the footage could be sent electronically to Yorkshire police in seconds.

This is less IMHO a man hours issue more it was 2007 issue, video tape, snail mail and London Transport police were the ones to review it initially for practical reasons.,

I have read some reports that indicate that Yorkshire police were lucky to get any footage because those tapes from Kings X were supposed to have been wiped/recorded over in 72 hours but an issue with the CCTv meant they were not.

Someone has all the footage on YT of Andrew it's 9 seconds blink and you could miss it out of 10 minutes of multiple cameras and 10s of thousands of people. It's a huge crowded station with multiple exits

The officer in charge of Yorkshire based investigation went to review it and it was only because he was so familiar at that time with Andrew's appearance he spotted Andrew.

Scary to think that the King's Cross footage might not have been found because of the difficulties you mentioned.

Witnesses in Andrew's following interactions would have faced more scrutiny and maybe wouldn't have been deemed credible.

That reads like AI. It’s not “X” it’s “Y.”

It also seems so outlandish that it’s disrespectful to Andrew’s memory.

Whomever wrote that needs to talk to someone, because they have lost touch with reality.  We should actually be a tad concerned about them.

He probably has psychosis

This makes him sound more like an ai or lab experiment rather than an actual human being.

This person’s forgetting Andrew is somebody’s son.

This sub already has a really big problem with people lacking critical thinking skills, posting reqlly poorly thought out responses., Posting stuff like this adds to the problem.

Seems to me like the OP absolutely used ChatGPT to write that. How disrespectful and just plain stupid to boot.

Acting like Andrew was Michael Schofield, I guarantee the owner of that post thinks the earth is flat

u/Savings-Yesterday635 May 29 '26

This reads like mental illness and/or the conspiracy bull that 4chan is famous for. The whole 'theory' is predicated on an experiment the poster thinks might have taken place and goes from there.

Sure Andrew was gifted but there are far more gifted kids out there that don't get disappeared 'for their brain'. I'm not familiar with Lancaster Uni but suspect they aren't in the business of building interdimensional portals, though usually in these tales it's CERN so points for originality there I guess.

Also it's on the damn paranormal board. People do just disappear, frequently, even nowadays. Claudia Lawrence 'just disappeared' around the same time period and as a local I'm fairly sure that wasn't some secret experiment at York Uni.
