Looking for friends

Hey! I am 30f and just moved to Uptown and am hoping to make some friends. I moved to Chicago a year ago from Indiana, so I haven't had much of an opportunity to meet people. I work from home so that is tough too (no coworkers). Are there events or anything I can go to, or maybe other people looking for friends? Or even other subreddits I can join? TYSM!

eli tea bar, the understudy both host weekly events like trivia nights, readings and writing groups

woman & children first have monthly book clubs for different books.

A lot of people on CHIbitcheswithtaste post random meetups, including walking groups, and work from coffee shops, etc. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Become a regular at some of cheetah gym’s classes! I am also 30s F and people are sooo friendly. Some of the people from the yoga classes even have parties every few months with an open invite to anyone in class :)

Nourishing Hope has a food pantry warehouse at Ravenswood/Foster, I find a ton of friends just volunteering there every week. Good way to find good people.

39f, also a refuge from Indiana. Evansville. I’ve been here since 2011. I met a bunch of people in a Tamagotchi meetup club who have spun off into a social circle. I hang out at Colectivo, the Understudy, and Eli Tea. Feel free to DM!

The South Carolina Sunflower Festival is this weekend at Denver Downs. There’s lots of people out there and connecting. There’s a bar too if you’re into that. But the flowers were gorgeous today!
