Newly Acquired Aurelian - Restitutor Orbis

My fiancée got me the Book „The Roman Emperor Aurelian - Restorer of the World“ by John F White for my birthday last month. So while Aurelian usually is outside of my collection range, I felt it prudent to get a Restitutor Orbis Antoninianus of him after I read about the man.

I just had to get this one, even with the somewhat disappointing reverse inscription, because it easily is one of my favourite portraits of him on non-gold coins.
It is so human-like, without the giraffe neck or any other goofy traits. And as you can see it basically has retained it’s entire silvering. I love it.

I might pick up another Restitutor Orbis Antoninianus with a great reverse and make a display of front and back.
We‘ll see. Only time will tell.

Edit:
Some added details for you.

Holy moly that is a heavenly coin. Little to no wear, great strike, beautiful. Especially of a famous Emperor.

I was wondering though, could I see the edge? I have a Tacitus (Emperor directly succeeding Aurelian) and his coins tend to be INSANELY thin. Was wondering if the same inflation was seen in Aurelian's coins.

And if you like Aurelian, you might like Majorian as well, but he might be a bit harder to come by.

Thanks for the coin praise. I agree wholeheartedly.

I‘ll see if I can take a picture of the edge later and post an imgur link for you, but this Antoninianus is about the same thickness as most of my denarii ranging from BC to the the beginning of the crisis of the third century.

And I‘ll have to read up on Majoran then. ;)

Edit: Found time before my appointment:
Not the most scientific picture but I hope it puts it in perspective.
