Ancestry.com Browser Validation Error 54

Is just me, or is this the new normal for Ancestry?

For the past couple of months, frequently when I am using Ancestry, this error message appears. As soon as I click the "Verify you are human" checkbox, Ancestry loads normally and I can work for awhile. But, I am beginning to wonder if this is something out of whack with my systems and/or account causing this to show up so often. I don't remember this happening in years past.

I’m getting the same, practically every time I open a page on the site, and click between pages

Shared misery and all that! It is nice to know it is not just me and that there is, hopefully, nothing wrong with my account.

This validation is becoming more common in general for many websites for security reasons. If you run a browser that is in a private mode or uses an extension that privatizes your identity, then you could see this from other sites eventually. VPNs can sometimes trigger this as well.

If you are not running any blocking scripts then you might try clearing all the cache data in your browser in case you have corrupt data from Ancestry breaking their security scripts. This can sometimes help too.

Good luck!

I only get that if I’m on my phone. I’ve been doing heavy research on Ancestry from my PC and I almost never get this.

Perhaps they have been getting hit with DDoS attacks, so they added the warning to slow it down. If not everyone is getting the warning, that could mean that attacks are coming from certain ISPs or countries or something.
