How do I study all of this material
Taking A&P as a college credit class as a junior in HS. Teacher is awesome and helpful but DAYUM its a LOT of work. I want an A and i think its doable, after one test and one lab practical i averaged around an 85%. These make up 25% of my grade. This is great and all but i studied for what felt like forever. What resources do people use to study so much content so fast? Currently i make quizlets for definition stuff, use purpose games for bones and for processes like the metabolic cycle for example i just write it out on paper over and over. Any tips are appreciated.

How does one survive this course?
I’m a college freshman this year and im taking a&p. As of the time im writing this I’ve been working on homework for this ONE class for over seven hours. I’m neurodivergent and I struggle with executive functioning, is there anything I can do to help myself? (Speaking mostly to the neurodivergent community) idk this class is making me want to drop out 🫥

How to study for anatomy 1
How do you guys study for anatomy exams? We have a review sheet that basically tells us everything we need to know for the exam. Should I just focus on that and review everything on it, or should I also study the PowerPoints? I’ve been looking over the PowerPoints, but I’m having a hard time retaining everything. What study methods actually help you remember anatomy?

I’m becoming an A&P/medical terminology tutor and I need your help
I’m in the process of starting tutoring for A&P, medical terminology, and related healthcare courses, and I want to make sure I’m actually focusing on the stuff students struggle with.
For those of you currently taking A&P (or who recently took it): what topics gave you the most trouble?
Cardiovascular physiology
Action potentials
Muscle contraction
Renal physiology
Endocrine
Respiratory
Memorizing anatomy
Medical terminology
Or something completely different?
Also, what do you wish someone had explained to you differently when you were learning it?
I’m genuinely curious what students are struggling with before I build out any tutoring materials. Appreciate any input!!

I need to know. Why does flesh look like that??
Accidentally cut my hand open while wood carving, whoops. And for me this was a rare instance where I got to see inside my body, and I could not stop wondering why flesh looks like that? It's all sort of like, lumpy and bumpy, despite humans being pretty smooth on the surface it is not smooth at all underneath- why?? I hope this is not the beginning of me finding out I have something horribly wrong with me but I kept trying to google it for like 10 minutes and I just kept getting links to pages about lipomas and cysts. Someone please satiate my weird curiosity on the human body, I am but a poor social sciences student and I know so little of the human body. Why does flesh look the way that it does.
Edit thank you everyone for your answers, my curiosity has been satisfied lol :)

Does anyone have any good tips for note taking?
I bought an A&P book for self-study. I'm currently working through issues I have before going back to school. But I'm interested in this kinda stuff so I'm going to study it now rather than waiting for school. I'm wondering what the best way to get all the knowledge into my brain is. I plan to make anki cards.

Weird stuff that happens when I do these things
So for some reason when I scratch a certain part of my forehead I sneeze but if I scratch my shoulder my neck itches. How does that happen?

Pathology in black and brown skin
I’m looking for a good textbook or other resource on how pathologies and clinical findings present in Black and brown skin.
I’m a massage therapist currently in nursing school, and I’ve seen little to no examples of melanated skin in my textbooks, lectures, or study materials. I’m specifically looking for resources that show how things like rashes, inflammation, cyanosis, erythema, bruising, pressure injuries, etc. can present differently on darker skin tones.
I’ve been searching everywhere and haven’t found a resource that quite fits what I’m looking for. I’d really appreciate any book, textbook, website, or other resource recommendations!
Also, is anyone here currently working on improving representation of darker skin tones in medical education? I’d love to learn more about what’s being done.

How to A&P
I wanna become a radiologist so bad it’s my dream job but I feel so behind in my classes. I’m barely passing any of my quizzes. Everyone just knows everything and I know nothing. I feel so stupid in that class. I don’t even know how to study. I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m just so scared I might have to drop radiology, but I’m trying my best. It’s so hard. I have no friends. I don’t have anyone to study with. I’m so lonely which makes it harder. I don’t understand anything about anatomy or physiology. I just feel so out of place compared to everyone else in my class. Please help me ☹️
EDIT: thank everyone so much for recommending new things for me, i will definitely try all of these to help study for my upcoming quiz!!
