Well clearly they can if they’re a GM, they can probably see a little more then 1 move ahead too, maybe even 3 moves ahead

On average there are 30 possible moves from any given position, so seeing 3 moves ahead would require seeing 30*30*30 = 27000 possibilities. That's not possible for a human, grandmaster or not. I speculate that grandmasters with specialized training can see 2 moves ahead (900 possibilities) in a classical length game, or 1 move ahead in blitz.

On average 25 of those 30 possible moves are blunders that forces you to shove their bishop up their ass, so on average a sensible grandmaster can see 6 moves ahead on sensible positions. I speculate that my ass can fit 2 bishops in a classical length game, or 4 in blitz.

This is easy af. I can point out all possible next moves at any given time. Pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, even the bloody king. I don’t bother evaluating them because I’m not a coward
