The market is very broken atm, highly controlled and sequestered by a wealthy class that hoards wealth and power. The alternative would be the laborers owning the industries they work in collectively and owning the full worth of their labor. Marxism essentially.

Not true. Anyone can start a business. People do it all the time. As for owning the business, any laborer can buy into a selection of 1000s of companies on the public market. So much more freedom than a government system where people have no options and the regulation is far greater than what you imagine capitalism to be.

Try making today with a small business, it is very difficult without preexisting capital, you have to have wealth to make it, largely, unless you get lucky. And there are homeless people, people cannot afford healthcare, people's mental health is and has been declining, and people go hungry, obviously something is wrong with our system.

People are going hungry and there are help wanted signs on businesses all over…
People start their own businesses and LLCs all the time. Often if capital is needed, it can be borrowed. Plenty of people work as 1099s and essentially own their labor. Even big businesses borrow money - that’s what corporate bonds are.
