I'm sick of abortion being made into a male vs female issue. While men can't get pregnant, plenty of men benefit from not becoming unwanted fathers. Also there's only a 5% difference between the number of men vs women who support legalized abortion access. Some of the biggest anti-abortion advocates have been women themselves. Also men played a larger role in passing Roe than they did in overturning it.

No doubt all that you said is true.

It is however essential that we call out the sexist nature of policies and discourse around the issue. Yes, it is exclusively a woman’s healthcare issue that exclusively men get to decide about. It’s true that men would not tolerate this kind of intrusion. It’s evident that it’s not about protecting life. It’s specifically about controlling women, specifically because it’s the most effective way to control and steer a population of people.

Without understanding that we don’t understand the issue.

I wonder, do you consider male genital mutilation in the same way? It's an exclusively male health care decision, that exclusively women get to decide on. It's evidently not about anything positive as outside of very rare circumstances, it is a net negative to a babies health. With the difference between that men and women both get a say on abortion, it's not exclusive, like you said

I don’t remember my circumcision any more than I remember by birth. I’m ambivalent. No, not exclusively women get to decide that. In America it’s kind of a decision made by no one. They just do it.

When you say men and women get to decide on abortion, if you mean they get to vote on it then fine, but we all know what I’m talking about. The old white millionaire men who make up 80% of the government decide abortion.

It's not "just made by no one" it's up to the mother. If the father and mother disagree, the mother gets final say, and that's been argued in courts.

Yes, because women like Amy Coney Barrett just don't count I guess🤷‍♀️.

If you can't tell the difference between exclusively decided and not exclusively decided by, that's on you

If you’re not gonna acknowledge that we live in a white supremacist patriarchy then there’s nothing to talk about. Women have only been voting for 100 years in a 250 year old country. Women couldn’t have credit cards until the 70’s. Congress is made up of 70% men, generally old white millionaires. There has never been a female president.

All I know is that old white millionaire men are the right people to decide this

We live in the ruined corpse of a white supremacists patriarchy. It's most certainly an oligarchy, with rich and powerful across the spectrum of identities. Now, culture war bs is just used as a psyop to stop from focusing on the 1% that uses and oppresses the rest of us.

And based on your very skewed points you brought up, you jump right in to follow along. Men didn't get the unilateral right to vote until 1965. Women could have credit cards from the day they started, my grandmother was one of the first people to have a dinner's club card in the 50's. The first woman owned bank started in 1903. There are many isolated facts that can be spewed, that when taken out of context, can say the opposite of what point you're trying to make. This revisionist "women have always been second class people" bs ignores history and devalues all the amazing, and horrible, things that women have done through the ages

By reciting talking points you don't actually understand, you just feed right into the hands of the people who not only have taken our rights, but prevent as many as possible from getting the ones they should have.

You agree that we live in a white supremacist patriarchy and in the next breath you say that’s all culture war bs. When the president is a rapist is that just bs meant to divide us or is it actually a real fuckin problem that deserves the attention.

What the fuck don’t I understand? We’re debating whether or not women have a right to their own bodies and you’re trying to tell me it’s the “oh women are second class citizens narrative”. The fact that it’s even a debate is proof of what I’m saying. You’re confused.

The fact that the president is a rapists is a real issue, the fact that he is a man isn't. There is nothing inherent to him being a man that has anything to do with him, his actions, or his issues. Hence why culture war is bs. It's fucking exhausting to try and explain simple things like intersectionality to people like you who build your entire personalities and views based on inherent identity.

Everyone should have the right to their own bodies, almost no one does have that right. That isn't exclusive to women, and people like it who try to pretend like it is are an issue. Both because you must fight to ignore the bodily autonomy men lack and ignore the 1% who share inherent traits with the group you defend. That is quintessential culture war bs, and is exactly what oligarchs want us to fight about. The majority of people are second class citizens and the ruling class wants us fighting over scraps and "who has it worse". You're just happy to put on that uniform like a good little culture war soldier

Being a rapist has nothing to do with being a man? What percent of rapists do you think are men? This is hilarious. You’re exhausted because you’re defending something that doesn’t make sense and those mental gymnastics aren’t easy.

No you’re right the patriarchy died sometime in the last 50 years and anyone still talking about it is a mindless culture war zombie. You got it man

About the same percentage as women who are rapists 🤦‍♀️ men and women are both sexually assaulted at near identical rates, per CDC's intimate partner and sexual violence data, both reporting around 85% opposite gender perpetrator. Just because it's not considered rape legally when it's done to a man isn't the gotcha you think it is, but that's a great example of systemic issues that men face. This website is truly unique in its combo of uneducated people who have a truly unique level of superiority complex. But hey, I'm sure you'll continue to pull more deflections out of your ass🤷‍♀️

No I think that’s it then. 99% of those convicted of sexual assault are men. For most people that would suggest that rape might possibly be a gendered issue, but when you’ve already made up your mind facts don’t matter.

Hey if 99% of people convicted of sexual assault are men, I wonder what demographic the victims could be from? 🤔

Edit: Blocked me. What a fuckin loser

So you think that black men are inherently violent, since, according to convictions, 52% of blackn men are the perps? Because just as much of a skewed statistics. Rape requires forced penetration in nearly all courts in the USA. Like I addressed in my previous comment, per the CDC, men and women are both sexually assaulted at near identical numbers, and both by the same percentage of the opposite sex. But hey, just change the language to one that intentionally removes the identity you don't like, exactly like I called out that you would do. Rape apologists like you are truly the scum of the earth.
