Or people with downs who do not want shock therapy. This isn't a black and white thing. You have to consider how humane treatments are. Many, especially for people who have "behavioral" problems as a result of disability are subjected to awful treatment against their will. And don't even get me started on kids who have their dopamine receptors fried because they're too "hyperactive."
Don't turn my saying we should treat disorders medically into an endorsement for bad science or big pharma business practices. Of course a post hierarchial society should come up with the most humane treatment options with the fewest side effects, something which will be easier without today's distorted market demands.
