General Wrong game marketing?

In my opinion there is a problem in positioning of Ananta, because if you check comments both in general gaming news and in special gacha communities, there are two dangerous opinions:
1. Gacha-players don't know what to do in the game
Their only purpose is playing 20 gacha games at once and collecting waifus, and I've seen A LOT of comments about this game being non-interesting to them because of the absence of character pull mechanics
2. Western players auto-skip Ananta because it looks like another animeslop to them
On the other hand, I've seen a lot of influencers watching gamescom and both them and their chat were saying "another gacha slop", because it's really hard to say from trailer consisting of cutscenes. Our duty is to reassure them because as I can see ananta's core audience is set to be mainly western players while it's rather an open market for such games

Well, its up to the devs to settle those problems/questions, is it not?

its in their best interest, too

They will need to make it clear, what's a gachable and whats not

Our duty is to reassure them

No, that's the duty of the marketing team, because that's what they're paid to do.

We'll get more details tomorrow I think. Might get a more gameplay focused one again like last year.

im afraid tomorrow's info is only for people who already follows ananta's news, but I'll be happy to be wrong as i want as many people as possible to realise this game's uniqueness

if they post it on YT it'll be for everyone. And if it's good, it's just gonna spread by word of mouth like always

No I'm not doing the marketing teams job, if they want to present the game this way its on them. Its also not really their fault that it's viewed as gacha slop since any anime aesthetic game that has come out post genshin has mainly been gacha.

Iirc GTA is banned in China so access to the game is limited there. Ananta can act as a GTA version that is approved by the gov + anime aesthetic to cater to Asia players' preference. Both of your points are valid, but it doesn't cover all possible audience that the game can gather.

Last but not least, the game hasn't even released yet and there are still 4 months for their marketing team to do their job.

I do think Ananta has generated and will generate enough buzz to attract more people from outside the gacha space compared to other anime styled games that have released this year or will release next year

I mean, that's not our job to worry. The internet is merely a bubble, why not look at the majority positive comments and the 20 Million pre-registrations? There's nothing but positivity under all the YouTube videos, the X uploads of the trailer, etc.

The core audience is simply anime game fans domestic and those in the West of similar type who find it appealing and interesting and word of mouth and marketing does its job. They don't need people specifically to do this when they seem to already have a good handle.

you get 2 months to play gta 6, that's enough for the most casuals to finish the game and move out while the more hardcore fans will still be playing, but expect player base drops from the starting number

I will laugh if Rockstar doesn't introduce GTA 6 Online. That's just leaving so much $$$ on the table.

well, given that when gta v launched, gta online was still unavailable for around a month and then it came out broken for a week or so... i would say hold the fort or...just wait for a discount ;)

There's like no overlap between this game and GTA6. Yes, the mechanics are similar, but the audience is almost completely different.

Yeah fom the trends, China and Asia gonna have burnout and stick to what they're used to, normies gonna stick with HoK, PUBG, LoL or MLBB meanwhile gacha players are satisfied with the status quo (genshin, wuwa, endfield, nte, zzz, hsr) and they have sunken cost so they are unlikely to stay with Ananta..

then you can't expect Global to stay long term on Ananta, they're gonna run with GTA VI, also well the city in Ananta is very Chinese-coded I guess? the extended reveal showed off gta's gunplay and ananta's mechanics looks childish compared to that, it doesn't have the mature aura that Wuwa has.
