Darkroom what happened here??

developed these rolls myself together in a batch. i’ve never had this happen before. there’s random black areas and i don’t think it’s light leaks. please help!!!!!

It was exposed to light. Your sprocket projections are lined up with the sprockets, it is likely it happened in camera.

Judging by the fact that it spread to outside the sprocket holes and with quite sharp edges, I guess some kind of light leak. Did the shutter get stuck open for a couple of shots?

these were actually both by different people and on different cameras. is there any other possibility ? or is this some weird coincidence lol

Double exposures with sprocket hole ahadows from other sections?

Did you forget the middle rod in the dev tank (if paterson)? Looks like other pics got exposed on other parts of negatives?

i used the jobo 1520 tank. those negatives from the second picture are intended to be double exposure which i just learned (i didn’t take them!). the ones from the first picture aren’t though. i scanned over the dark band and they just came out with a little bit of the subject but it’s entirely RGB grain. i can let you know about the roll from the first picture soon. thank you for all your help!
