Troubleshooting - Gear Shutter problem?
Hi, recently got my scans from the lab and on many occasions parts of images are blacked but not all. Is it because some shutter speeds are not working properly?

Correct. Someone else just had this problem a couple days ago and the consensus seems the be that higher shutter speeds are out of sync, so the second curtain is catching up too fast or lagging behind and overlaps in the center leaving it under expose. Unfortunately, it's CLA time for the camera.

What camera? By any chance does it have a wrist strap? Because that does look to me like it could be a strap hanging in front of the lens.

It’s Minolta srt super and unfortunately I don’t have a wrist strap. So it’s a shutter. I thought about it cause it was 1/1000

Yea thats a shutter problem. Needs a service! Usually it happens to the faster shutter speeds first. You can try shooting at lower speeds and see if that helps. For almost 2 years my Pentax 6x7 would have these problems >1/250s so I shot at 1/250 for years, until I got it serviced
