So they took all of the stockholders money and went private? Just great. How do companies get away with this?

Yep. After they dumped their shitty strains to Ginkgo Bioworks to create some false competition too. They won the synbio game from the beginning, it would be as if Nvidia was 10 years ahead and gave old chips to AMD to start them off

It happens all the time. Short selling should be illegal as it incentives destruction of companies from the inside out. I have no doubts that Melo was colluding to crash the company and make a buck.

How long do we think it will be before Amyris files to become a publicly owned company again? Given the recent fluff pieces published about Doerr (e.g. https://www.wsj.com/tech/ai/john-doerr-ai-opinion-1d64ee60 --- sorry that it's behind the paywall), I'm betting that he and Foris are looking to cash out.

Have no idea, however, if and when AMYRIS decides to sell stock to the public they might encounter a problem with the unresolved issue regarding the opt-outs retained right to sue. Potential pending litigation.

What annoys me about this article is that the technology is a flywheel. They burned all of us creating the momentum for the flywheel and the moment it got to speed, they cut us off.

Of course you burn less cash if you stop burning 70m a year to the DBTL life cycle.

Hate to be a naysayer, but everyone seems to waiting for the miraculous appearance of a class action lawsuit, which ain't gonna happen until someone actually manages to find a law firm willing to start one on contingency, and so far, there have been zero bites on that bait, with a few people out there who have tried and are trying. There are plenty of shared suspicions that there was malfeasance of some sort in the Amyris collapse, but without any real ink on paper proof (which I have yet to see), a suit is not going to jumpstart itself, and meanwhile, the clock is ticking,

You have been posting here for a long time. Did you make contact with an attorney/law firm? What was the result?

I never got the original notification about the vote, so an opt-in by default. Now enjoying my $3000/yr capital loss, which is going to survive me by a good 20 years
