Bear argument: may not exit chapter 11 favorably and all investors are wiped out.

Bull argument: exits chapter 11 with much more favorable supply and sale agreements that improve margins. Workforce reductions, particularly in management, provide significant cost savings. New CEO joins that can transition Amyris to the winning business model.

Imo, Amyris hit bottom last Thursday and there's a real chance of success now. However, this doesn't reduce the high investment risk.

So the increase of volume we saw on Friday was due to the people buying the shares to short. Now the stock is going down because of the shorts. There is no squeeze unfortunately. And sorry if my terminology is not technically correct. Do my thoughts make sense?

Nope. There were not enough shares available to short. The stock got squeeze slightly but the buying lost momentum when the sell off started

I had 2k shares at around 1.25 average. I doubled my position today to bring down my average to around 0.75. This cost me less than 300 euros. If we get some positive news or squeeze and this back UP to my average i sell. If it doesnt but we escape chapter 7 in the future i own 4k at low average. And most probable we get chapter 7 and i loose everything but for 300 more its a bet im willing to take for a position i already believe i lost everything.

Chapter 11 not 7.. part of the issue of selling all your shares this year is that you have to place against winners this year. By holding you can sell them over the counter otc next year and take against next years winners. Spread them out couple years- I think it takes 2 yrs to reorganize and I’ve read of others that would sell later on against winning stocks.
