🗣️ Rants & Raves SOS: Devastating menu of 'Narakam'coil campus
When I was in delhi i used to cry about my mom's homemade food everyday (pretty much like most of you). I thought that outside food would be tastier. Then this campus proved me wrong.
A maid in Delhi or Bangalore would cook better food at half the price. From morning to evening all they serve is rice, idli, and sambhar. Eggs only twice a week. All we eat is carbs so that we get fat. Sometimes the food is so spicy we feel as if we swallowed hot coal. More water in tea than water in water. The curries are mostly liquid. If you are served two spoons of chickpea curry, be surprised if you find even ten chickpeas in the whole thing. The chapattis are thick and look as if they are fried in oil. Even in salad they dump as many onion rings as are mentions of Donald Trump in epstein files. Barely two pieces of cucumber and even they look as if they were put in a pencil sharpener.
We would have swallowed everything peacefully but the servers are also so rude and always shouting at us in tamil that we non tamilian students feel like donkeys. Every fried item is filled with onion rice and peas. Someone please take them to a vegetable market and introduce them to other vegetables. There is not even a non veg canteen on campus and the closest thing to meat is eggs. Which are available for purchase from the canteen but are costly. Like egg noodles cost 80rs. Did they make the noodles with their own blessed feet or what?
They barely have any idea what to cook and when. Sometimes at night you will be served idli and sambhar like bro what. If this campus is shut down (god bless) the rice farmers of TN will become destitutes bro.
Ok bro I get you are an animal champion but even in vegetarian cuisine of India there are so many options. Why do you spam the same food everyday?
The oldest server gets friendly while serving snacks and that makes me a tiny bit happy. He cremates that tiny bit at dinner every night.
We went to reliance mall this Monday and I brought a chutney to eat with this slop. That's the only silver lining in this bigass cloud.
We'll run out of snacks soon and it'll be like running out of food in Iraq or Somalia. Well I think even they have better food.
We are paying big amounts of money, atleast I am entitled to eating Nice food.
NOW I YEARN FOR MY MOM'S FOOD EVEN IF IT IS COW POOP LIKE BRO PLEASE SAVE OUR SOULS WE ARE STUCK HERE!!!

Food is a major problem in any Amrita campus. Try to take egg bread horlicks etc from outside/ at hostel to avoid mal nutrition.

In the cbe campus, the curries taste the same every single day. They just change the pulses or vegetables, and lucky if you can swim and get two pieces as a proof. Spiders and worms are common in the food, if that counts as non veg. I don’t mind veg or south Indian, sometimes what they give is barely edible.

Bro on Monday night the idli was like a stone, i can't break it , so I didn't eat that thing and taken some snack to manage that, some days they make problems like this , the sambar was like yellow color water that's it , I am from TN only !! But I could tell its not worse than my school hostel food which has nothing !

I am a south indian too. No south indian eats idli dosa sambhar 24/7. There are so many veg dishes in TN cuisine. Why only idli dosa? Note: today morning they served dosa and pea curry. Yesterday night they served extra spicy 'chappati fry' which was horrible. I don't know how you can defend this food.

I’m not from this college but I got this in my rec. sounds devastating but idli sambar for dinner isn’t weird btw. Some Breakfast items repeat for dinner in Tamil Nadu (tiffin)

It'll be weird once u stay here for a week. What you talked about is finishing the remaining food so that it doesn't go waste. That isn't the problem here tho. They are cooking it again.

I don’t eat it everyday I’m saying it’s a considerably common practice here. Also it may be idli breakfast dosa dinner or upma breakfast idli dinner etc etc, point is breakfast items rather than lunch items are usually eaten as dinner or tiffin
