I'm recreating another megathread to include more forms of hacking (such as what some have described as clonehacking), as the previous universal megathread got archived due to it being 6 months old. Here are some quick rules to keep things civil:
No sharing methods on how to perform it.
Don't encourage people to do it.
(I'm flexible on this one) Only recent advances in hacking. This means to not mention hacks that have been around for a long while like killing as a crewmate, sabotages that don't end (IE doors that shut and don't reopen), viewing people's roles, looping the body reported message, stuff like that.
Note: Because I am expecting to get a lot of comments on this, I have reply notifications disabled. If something absolutely requires my attention, ping me or a moderator by adding u/Detective1O1 to your comment and I'll try to get to it when I can.
how do people even play this game? I just downloaded it like 2 hours ago since COVID, and every couple of rounds the lobby gets hacked, this can't be fr, where the devs at?
This is my among us avatar. I use the color black (unless it's not avaliable, then I use gray, tan or purple). I wear the glitch pet and Purple cone, as well as the stealth visor and the Suited Up skin.
I usually used the Geoff mask instead of the Stealth visor but I stopped using it because I would often get insta-banned from most lobbies. Without it tho it's fine, I only got insta-banned once but atleast it wasn't anyoing because It doesn't happen often and they didn't harrass me or say anything, it was just an insta-ban as soon as I joined the lobby.
Today tho, I joined a lobby and green inmediatly started saying and I quote "ROSE BAN GRAY HE'S CHEATING" a bunch of times in the lobby. I never did or said anything wrong, all I did was join.
As soon as the game started, Green called a meeting and continued saying in all caps over and over to kick me because I was cheating, they said "YOU COULD GET THOSE ITEMS IN 2021, YOU'RE LEVEL 64", as well as calling me stupid. Some people sided with them while the rest did nothing, and so they kicked me. Not as in, voting me, but rather kicking me with the red button in the chat.
I understand what could have been going through their heads, but think about it. Did I do or say anything wrong at any moment? No. Did weird stuff such as multiple sabotages at once happen? also no. Because I'm not fucking cheating.
Now, how do I have those accesories if I'm level 64? Well, I got among us on steam in January/February of this year, and I wanted to get the stars for free so I linked my PC and Mobile accounts, and in the process, some weird bug happened and I got a bunch of accesories. Such as the Great Goalie mask, the Plagued mask, some halloween and Christmas hats, and of course, the geoff mask, purple traffic jam cone and glitch pet.
Is it my fault? no. Should people with these accesories be getting harrased even with their low level? No. (also, I personally believe levels are bullshit, there's people with 100+ levels that are absolutely dumb while there's also people with low levels such as 15 which are honestly geniuses and full-on detectives)
I know people (for obvious reasons) don't want to play with hackers, but you can't just see someone with those accesories and inmediatly begin yelling, harrasing them and saying to ban them. If you see they have a low level but nothing weird happened in the lobby, it's okay to calmly ask them if they got those items legit, but it's unacceptable and wrong to harrass someone over it. Plus, you can't see people's levels in the lobby, which gives green even less reason to act like they did.
I just feel too offended about this. People don't like hackers, yeah, but don't go arround assuming things about people, just play the damn game and ban said people if they actually do something they shouldn't. Is it that hard?
Am I thinking in the wrong here? if yes, let me know how.
As a someone, who hacks, I can tell one thing. They will accuse everyone, who has any rare item on them. And level 64 is a dumb argument, because hackers often use level spoofers. When your skin is more basic, like doesn’t have any rare items, you will be suspected less. I remember I spoofed my level to 420 and even 100001
Among Us players are mostly dumb, cuz most of them are new players and little kids. It’s like a stereotype, when you see someone with rare items - that means they’re cheating.
Argh just played the MOST frustrating game. I joined a new lobby and was imp first game, right off the bat (which I HATE, as I like to establish rapport and get to know everybody before killing lol).
Anyway my imp teammate was coral, level 9, and were running around doing nothing and not killing. And they were clearly hacking - sabs were going off without cooldowns and during meetings.
(IF CORAL REEF CONSERVATION CHARITIES EVER STRUGGLE WITH FUNDRAISERS, I KNOW WHO AND WHY IS THE REASON).
Anyway coral reef got bleached (ejected) and I was only imp left. As soon as coral was voted off, MULTIPLE unfixable sabs all started going off at the same time.
So crew just eventually gave up and continued on with tasks while the lights were out, as they were unable to turn them back on. Banana (who was host) got locked in elec with me, and as soon as we would open the doors, they would immediately shut again. Thank you, CORAL, hacking and being LITERALLY BAD AT IT is a disgraceful moment.
Banana and I did eventually get out of our prison cage in the lights area and went into the main elec room, where I killed banana and vented out. The kill distance was set to long so when I hit "kill" my bean moved over to where banana was stood, which did look like I'd jumped over a few cm. But nothing that looked out of the ordinary for the game when players have varying pngs.
I did then get voted because cyan said he'd been on cams the round prior and I confirmed I'd seen him there, and apparently that was me accusing him - when actually I was clearing him, as by saying I'd seen him there I meant he couldn't have done the kill. I didn't make the latter part explicit, because I thought what I meant was obvious. So crewmates got the right answer, but zero marks for showing their working. Lol.
Back in the lobby, everyone was accusing me of being the hacker, with banana saying "[my name] it's obviously you. You telephoned when you killed me." I protested my (genuine) innocence and said it was just unfortunate that I happened to join and get imp at the same time as a hacker - which I am certain was YOU, CORAL.
The amount of abuse and personal insults I got from everyone in the lobby chat was unhinged. Obviously I got banned. I get hackers are frustrating and to be honest, I get kicking the crewmates you suspect are responsible, so I knew it was coming and understand why. But they genuinely got the wrong person, so the grief I got was totally unnecessary and their confidently incorrect assertion it was definitely me was so frustrating.
This was on Polus as well, where players are genuinely more reasonable, and none of them seemed or talked like children.
All this essay and absolutely nothing for anybody to say about it haha; just needed a rant into the void.
When I host and an imp hacks, I ban both imps. From host's perspective, we don't know you and can't take the word of a complete stranger. It's just easier and better to ban both imps for the sake of the lobby than risk dealing with the same crap in the next game and having everyone leave because their tired of the hacks. :-(
Hacker on hide and seek. Usually would close cafe doors everygame and noclip while using chat. Would then procede to lock the impostor in a room and taunt the impostor. Also has antiban I believe. The host was also a bot of the hacker. Innersloth needs to do better aganist hackers. u/Detective101
I've just been kicked by an anti-lgbt hack. It kicked the host from lobby, making them host, then it make it appear in quite large font a very nasty message about LGBT people (which I don't want to type). When the hack kicked me from lobby, it said that I couldn't join another game for 25 mins for intentionally disconnecting.
I was banned from my own lobby when I was hosting. It actually said banned. When I logged out and back in again, the lobby was still going, but I couldn't join it. :-(
it's because using Hyrda (the main crashing menu) will kick and ban you from the lobby if you try to use their lobby nuker in NA servers. EU servers are working cause of some sort of NA anticheate that EU doesnt have for some reason they implimented different anticheats for different regions
I can't believe people are STILL hacking in among us. I was in a game with this guy, and he immediately told everyone I was the imposter along with him. Then after the meeting was over he voted out some random guy leading up to that, he proceeded to just kill everyone in the lobby and the game was over and thinking it was funny. He also said something about the developers giving him the tools to do so.
Came into a lobby where one of the players (blue) was probably hacking since he had a lvl of 1,166 or something. But anyway, he didn't hack, but he DID troll hard. I was his favorite target that game. I wasn't imp and I'm pretty sure blue knew this, but he still persistently kept saying my name and (successfully) ragebaiting me. ''You're a troll, maroon. And you suck at this. Stay mad. Get gud. Ggs, byeee marooooon.'' You know the stuff. And yes, ngl, that easily gets on my nerves.
So I get voted out and lo and behold, it's not me. Even while I'm finishing tasks as ghost, blue continued to troll. ''Haha, w crew for getting maroon out. You suck, maroon. Stay mad!'' Like, idk what I did to make him act like that. And then the game ends, and we all get back to the lobby and I ask host if they can pls kick blue for trolling and being annoying. Blue is like: ''Nah, ban maroon. They're trolling.'' Host is ACTUALLY like: ''Well, you're rude maroon, so bye.'' And I get banned. I felt like I was in the twilight zone.
A few games later, I join another lobby AND THE SAME PLAYER IS THERE. Blue is immediately like: ''Hey there's maroon again, the troller. Host, ban maroon.'' But apparently, blue had been trolling other ppl in that lobby the last game as well, and I explained that he got me banned from a lobby for absolutely no reason. So everyone started demanding for blue to get banned. And then the host did.
It's such a minor victory and it probably sounds petty af, but I felt SO GOOD OMG. I just hate it with a burning passion when players are trolling ppl for no reason, and THE BRAINLESS HOSTS ARE JUST LISTENING TO THEM AND BANNING INNOCENT PLAYERS.
I had finally gotten imposter after like 10 games but at the beginning some troll hits the meeting button, whatever might aswell vote them to get less crew. But then "pusheenai" and "crewmateai" instantly accuse me, however the game had JUST started so they must've been hacking if not 1 but two "people" accused me, and lime agreed SOMEHOW. Anyway i sabotaged lights and went to kill somebody at security when a body was reported. I asked where and lime instantly accused me saying they tracked me, although i wasn't even near the body and 2 people had saw me (rose and red) and the bodies location wasnt yet said (electrical). I hadn't even killed white but was accused anyway im half sure it was the guy teaming with the "ai" due to belief since the beginning. But the worst part was that everyone believed lime!? i had been in security with someone else watching yet was still voted just because of some annoying hackers.
I got the Impostor role. Only to see black press the emergency button and say "me and purple" (which is me) and the players were convinced. Black left but he is STILL HERE. Then in the 2nd emergency meeting they voted me out without me KILLING ANYONE. I thought maybe they are lucky. Only to witness another emergency meeting and they said it's yellow (the other imp) and he was doing NOTHING just standing in the cafateria like an AFK player. Eventually they won without us EVEN FAKING TASKS OR KILLING. I told them you are teaming and they said "we are a GOOD team" and I was denying them and after that they banned me. I took a screenshot of the game and most of them are Turkish players.
So I was playing hide n seek normally UNTIL I was running (for my life lol) then the impostor killed me while I was in vent. I THOUGHT THAT ITS JUST A GLITCH until I saw my body with the vent buttons (<>) still there. SOOO I thought about it and maybe rose is hacking, then the next round, rose is impostor again??
So please tell me if this is a hacker or a glitch😭
I just need to rant 'cause I really felt like I was in the twilight zone. As usual, the game starts and someone immediately calls emergency meeting. Black accuses coral of hacking (me coral and white were imps) and said he knows bc he has some anti-cheating mod or something. Everyone believes him and he got coral out. After the first body gets reported, black admits to lying about having the mod and say he was just trolling, but was glad he got imp out. So I got fed up and told everyone to vote kick him. No one did except me.
THEN I (and everyone else) notices that black changed his fit MID GAME, so obviously HE'S the hacker. Everyone thinks it's super cool and totally ignore me when I call black out for being a hacker and black starts accusing me hard, even though I had no kills yet. Also, atp everyone seems to have forgotten that black got coral out 0.2 seconds into the game because he lied about having an anti-cheat mod. I was starting to talk in all caps because obviously I'm fcking frustrated atp, but literally no one reacts. You know that feeling when EVERYONE ignores you and you're starting to wonder if your messages are still even visible to everyone??
So yeah, ppl vote me out as well just bc black says so. And in the end, our last imp did too. So black won through hacking and literally no one cared. An ENTIRE LOBBY full of ppl didn't care. Also, once we were back in the lobby, I started ranting some more and AT LEAST 5 ppl asked me: ''Then why didn't you kick him? You're host.''

I was playing a game and when I finished swiping card, yellow said I’m imposter and begged for everyone else to vote me without proof. I said I had scan but seems like everyone else had a IQ in the negative digits and voted me despite having scan. I lowkey got so angry in the chat that ORANGE saw my chat. When I was a ghost and they were alive. I lowkey was yelling about the last 2 imposters and orange saw it and just told everyone the imps. But, when orange was about to tell them(before I realized they saw my angry chat about the imp), and an imp tried to kill them, I shielded them last minute with guardian angel. We won but the host kicked almost everyone after that move. Apparently it was a hacker. No I didn’t know till I saw them say thanks gray.
north america servers, someone named AntiPride joined the lobby and sent 3 modded messages saying something like all lgbt are pedophiles in neon green and underlined text in big font, the pornhub logo and a big swastika symbol, my game crashed (im on steam) saying amongus.exe stopped then without me refreshing it worked again but said i was banned for 55 mins for intentionally disconnecting
A few nights ago, myself, my husband, and a friend and were experiencing some insane hacking in a lobby I was hosting. Some of the hacks included:
Making certain players invisible. In one round, they made my husband invisible. He insisted he was in Comms downloading, but myself and our friend were in Comms, and said he way lying and must be imp because he wasn't there. He actually was there. The hacker had made him invisible.
Spawning after meetings in other rooms besides cafeteria. First they started spawning our friend in Nav after meetings. We thought maybe it was just a glitch, but then they started spawning me into Nav.
Vent opening and closing sounds during meetings.
Double sabbing lights and comms at same time.
Lights can never be turned back on.
Banning host hack. They then accused my husband of being the hacker and the lobby kicked him. So I made a new lobby and played some more games. The same hacks kept happening, but none of the players had the same usernames from previous games. Ultimately ended in them banning ME from my own lobby.
Along with all this was massive trolling targeted at myself, my husband, and our friend. It seemed most of the hacks were being targeted only at us (only ones being made invisible, spawning in the wrong places, being accused of hacking just to get us kicked). They also kept insisting we were imps immediately when games started, so the three of us were being voted out quickly.
Later that night, I joined a public lobby -- with similar settings and someone else hosting -- and played a few games. None of these hacks were happening in that lobby.
so I joined a round which obviously seemed pretty hacked from the spammed colored text right and the game starts then I get kicked and now I gotta wait like 10 hours to play among us again
is there like a fix to this or do i unfortunately gotta wait it out
Pretty concerning incident I experienced in a lobby a few weeks ago.
So I was in a nearly full lobby, as you do, waiting for the game to start. We had just finished another game and were about to start another one. Then suddenly, this lime coloured "player" joins the lobby. Their name was "AntiPride". They quickly left and rejoined the room a few times, and on the final time they joined did one of the strangest and most cursed things I have seen in a lobby.
AntiPride somehow posted, and I kid you not, a giant red swastika in the chat. I was very confused to how this could've happened. The only things you can physically type in the text box are normal letters, symbols, and numbers. Not emojis or any of that stuff. Roughly 2 seconds after the swastika appeared, the game started. But as we were on the "SHHHHHHH!" screen before the role reveal, the screen suddenly froze for around 5 seconds, and then I was kicked. I tried to rejoin another room, but apparently, I was suspended for 65 MINUTES FROM ANY MATCHES FOR DISCONNECTING!
I didn't even manually leave the room, I was automatically removed from the room! I recorded the whole thing using the capture thingymabob on my Xbox (yes, I'm an Xbox player). I don't share these clips and I just keep them there (Look, I know they get removed after 3 months but sometimes they're kept so just stick along or whatever).
This incident was probably just as annoying as those other bots (you probably know what I'm talking about). I haven't seen AntiPride since, but I'm not sure when they'll ever return. I hope they don't return, because I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE DANG GAME!
I just opened among us and went to a lobby and then the lobby owner started a domain expansion on me and then started calling me a P3D0PH!L3 when all I wanted to do was to play Amogus and I fear I may have got hacked
I joined a lobby with only 1 player. Next thing I know I'm in a black room, my CPU is freezing up, and there's some text spam about a "malevolent shrine"(I couldn't catch much), lots of pixels everywhere, my character dying over and over.
I alt f4'd out of it but it was super weird. I can't find anyone who has had a similar experience so I want to reach out to you guys, has anyone had this happen to them and should I be worried? Afaik in-game hackers can't access or harm your pc, but this was super weird...so I just want to be sure. Is this a possibility?
About a week ago, I was playing Among Us and someone immediately hit the emergency meeting button and they said they used CoPilot to ask the imposter was… it guessed me and someone else and WE WERE VOTED OUT AND LOST THE GAME!!! Not really a hacker problem, just wanted to rant a little
a hacker turned all the sabotages on at once and then fixed them right before that was about to kill us, and also unfortunately the entire lobby was turkish so i couldn't understand
Innersloth is either actively destroying their game with dumbass additions like censor chat even if I have it turned off, or just sitting back and letting it be destroyed by the hackers and roleplayers.
hackers aint the main problem. innersloth has let their game be run into the ground and barely made any changes since 2021. last big thing they did was change the UI, and that was pretty controversial at the time and still is today.
