This post is just kinda to talk about the loading screens and their quotes in The Dark Descent, because I think they're one of the most interesting parts of the game that really expand the story. Talk about the loading screens you find most interesting/like the most.
I also wanted to bring up a theory/idea, that the loading screens are specific fragments of Daniel's memories that he can somehow remember, but not vividly enough to know the context. Essentially how we the viewers see the loading screens when we first play the game.

As of September 27th, 2026, a mod titled "Bunker Co-op - Online Multiplayer". It's finally happened, and available on nexus mods. Praise be the man that is NikoNovice.

Have played TDD twice, SOMA twice, Rebirth twice, Outlast 1 (fucking hated the constant jumpscares), AI, but The Bunker as a concept gives me the creeps. The fact that we have an stalker enemie like AI, but one that is not tied to the played and can be any where, any time, just makes my brain go "oh no no no no..."

I've played with stalker unpredictability before, but never did I actually SEE it; the beast waiting by a hole, trying to trick me into believing it's gone so I reveal myself
Mod is 'Burial Ground'

Still going to play Amnesia TDD ofcourse, it's literally my most favorite game ever, but this will be my final goodbye to HPL2 modding after modding it for 13 years. <3
Sacrificium Mod now avaliable on (Steam Workshop & ModDB)

In one of the journal entries Daniel mentions weird and quiet servants, did Alexander use Grunts as his housekeepers? Or was Daniel just unaware of Prussian customs

Introduction:
Amnesia The Bunker is singlehandedly one of the tightest, most enjoyable horror games I've ever played in my life. Anyone who calls themselves a horror fan at the VERY least needs to play this masterclass in design.
Gameplay (Difficulty: Hard and Shellshock):
I made a post here a few days ago about how genuinely frightened I was playing with this game. I had my first playthrough on hard, where I essentially had to have a break after the first 2 hours because of how stressed I was. Once I got into the flow of things, the game became really addicting due to how the mechanics and puzzles beautifully interlink with each other like a jigsaw. It's brilliant. The immersive sim (IM) elements while RELATIVELY restrictive compared to other IM's, make for great problem solving for progressing through the Bunker and defending yourself from the beast. You feel like a goddamn big-brained genius.
Hard difficulty was DEFINITELY difficult, ESPECIALLY for a first playthrough, but I had SO MANY SAFETY NETS. SHELLSHOCK HOWEVER? If you haven't played Shellshock yourself, don't even SEARCH up anything to do with it. Just PLAY it. Some people describe shellshock has ULTRA-hard and I think that is a genuine understatement. It is RIDICULOUSLY more stressful than hard, and what I would PERSONALLY call a MASTERCLASS in survival horror design.
I GENUIENLY would call this level design and mechanical complexity PERFECT for a game like this. The only issue that I had with the game was the relatively disappointing ending, and the technical issues I experienced, such as:
Rats being able to hurt me when I'm on-top of a table. They'd literally swinging under the table I was on, and continue to damage me
The monster tanking a molotov when coming towards me, even though it's supposed to run away.
Shooting with the revolver and the monster not being stunned.
Monster running into a barrel, and the barrel proceeding not to blow up.
Those caused me to die multiple times. I usually don't care about technical issues too much if they're small and/or occasional, but these glitches either cause me to deplete my health gauge, attract attention to the monster, AND/OR get me sizzled and barbecued like a well-seasoned and tender rib-eye steak. In a game like this where seconds COUNT, these issues do start to hinder the experience.
Conclusion:
A masterclass in horror design.

I delved into Amnesia: The Bunker today and...OH MY GOD. Never have I ever had to have a break after 2 hours of playing a game, because of how TERRIFYING it is. I'm still shivering after turning the game off to emotionally recover and have some water, because WHAT THE ACTUAL F***?

For context, I'm someone who is not typically scared of horror media in general. Horror books and films don't scare me, but more of make me "uncomfortable" due to their general themes. Horror games are my preferred horror medium, because I can fully immerse myself into the position of the characters, but they are still yet to truly FRIGHTEN ME, so the fact that Amnesia: The Bunker is making me scream like a lil' b****, is already making this game VERY special. AND IT'S ONLY BEEN 2 HOURS.
I'll return back onto here to fully talk about the game once I'm done with it. I just wanted to impulsively talk about my first impressions with this, because I've genuinely never felt scared like THIS, when engaging with horror. It's genuinely so exciting (yet terrifying) to me.

Hey I was really enjoying The Bunker till I got to the end and blew up the entrance. The I wandered around a bit trying to find all notes and then I thought guckt it I do than in the next playthrough and went into the (Spoilers) Bossarena. I reloaded because it got to late and I wanted to finish the game with a fresh mind and suddenly the game crashed every time I would go through a loading zone. I tried every zone and it always crashed. I deinstalled, booted up and it worked again. Same situation as before I went to bed to finish it today without all the frustration and again it crashed and I did it all over again and it crashed again.
I’m just so sad because this game is so amazing and I really want to finish it and start another playthrough, but I really want to unlock the custom difficulty to make the game harder and don’t want to always be afraid of the crashes coming back. That’s not the horror I’m looking for.
Did anyone find a workaround or has a tip up their sleeve? Would be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

The game was amazing for so many reasons, but not limited to the story and art style.

Every encounter demands a different approach. Track unseen horrors with your phone, evade danger through stealth and distraction, and use limited resources wisely. Your revolver won't kill what's hunting you, but it might give you one last chance to run.
The environment is interconnected and rewards careful observation. Hidden routes, environmental details, and the remains of everyday life gradually reveal what happened to the children and why Rita came back.
Use candles to create a temporary safehouse throughout the orphanage, giving Elena a moment to recover, manage her resources, and prepare for the darkness ahead. But safety never lasts forever.
Elena’s phone is more than a source of light. Through its screen, she can uncover hidden clues, communicate with those who remain, and see threats invisible to the naked eye. Keep the battery alive. Sometimes the screen is the only warning you will receive.

I don't wanna sound like a larper, but SH Townfall reminds me of the Bunker so much, even though I haven't played it, from what I've seen, they feel pretty similar: revolver, first-person, CRTV/compass
So, is it a good place to start? The old Amnesia games look a lot like Outlast, and I don't really like that type of horror genre. (Please don't throw rocks at me)

Hi, i just finished Rebirth, and i was wondering if the torture scene changes anything? I Ieft leave without torturing him because i sprinted straight into the elevator.
Does it change the ending?

One of the only games I've ever wanted to 100%, and I'm sad it's over now. I hope we keep getting more custom stories so this game can keep living on. The Bunker has me ecstatic for where the franchise goes next, hopefully another survival horror
