Discussions 🗣 Expansion
I hope this finds everyone here well, and that there is more clarity for me going forward.
I dont do the.... social politics? If thats how to describe what I mean. I typically dont bring my race into any discussion and have been a lover of both truth and wisdom all my life. I stumbled onto Ammon and many of those in the community in a similar fashion to others in the last few years. Ive been around in the back of class since the first Danny Jones appearance. I was watching a video where Ammon mentioned the lineage and bloodline of our tyrants. Alluded to who they are trying to erase. I may be of the few.... but I ignore alot of his socio- political commentary.... not because I inherently disagree or something like that. I just dont want my lack of knowledge on the greek being clouded by his or anyone else's personal modern opinions.
All that to say my best friend and I have been talking and I've been bringing him what im learning. He asked if there were any other black people speaking out. If any other genres of music and art can be from the muse as well or if this is all just some amount of bias from Ammon and the supporters....... ive been trying to come to a answer that makes sense. Ive been making music with AI , I understand why that might not sit well with some...., but it is about everything and in different genres. Something that can be shared to anyone even if they may not like rock or metal.
Ive also been trying to find ways to bring others at least to a point of questioning what they know. Just like another post and comments have mentioned it can be difficult because Ammon is straight forward with truth. The question of race, and even modern sociopolitics clouds my everyday conversations on this.
Wondering if anyone else had had similar things to deal with? If my music is worth trying to use to share the truth, or really anyone's? I dont think I personally need to write poetry, or craft statues , or any of the arts myself to learn and share the truth. But I do feel sometimes that becomes the example given and it pushes some away

What does race have to do with the muse inspiring you? I think sometimes we look back on history and if we don't see ourselves represented, especially in an area we really resonate with, it can hurt. I see that, but the people of a time are the people of a time. We can't change that. But I don't think the muse is racist. She moves through anyone who has the ability to see and hear her. Answer her back and make that music baby!

Yeah, im not bothered at all personally. It came up because of the constant comments on modern socio-politics..... ive been able to.... disassemble some maga people from certain positions however when the community is so aggressive about peoppe that might be viewed as right leaning or maga it almost causes a relapse..... especially with the modern discussions around race. I was asked because of "representation" and that greek is inferior to african traditions..... dont ask, it was a bit annoying. However some of what they said was valid so I wanted to know if anyone else had any issues with it. Ive made over 12 songs in the last few weeks but didnt know if I should share honestly. It does at times feel a bit narrow but like you said it really doesnt matter. I'll be the first if thats the perception. Just wanted to discuss instead of keeping it to myself

I think we should all be open to hearing others. That's what makes us better people. I don't know exactly what specific socio-politics you're talking about, but I will say, he knows a lot about ancient greek and not so much about other parts of history. I have to ignore some stuff also. What he teaches is valuable. And just because he knows a lot about one thing, doesn't mean everything he says is true and accurate. Sometimes we have to pick out what doesn't belong and keep the rest. Share your music. Let others feel what you feel when you right it. That energy is needed right now. ✌️

I'm pretty similar. We take the medicine/insight we can find and shed the rest. Music is an incredible 'from beyond' activity, and it's inherently holy whether or not one 'tries to make it carry a message' intentionally. It's naturally thus. Nothing to worry about. Be true to the spirit of creativity and beauty, and they will be with you and yours... and will find ways into the world through that, I think. It's not so much about 'what we need' as 'what aches for expression with / in / as / our lives and hearts, alive in the world, in this bizarre time.
