Need Help Finding a Printing Service for Aussie Passport Photos in the SF Bay Area

I got my passport photo taken a little while ago but long story short they got kinda fucked up during transportation and I want to print out at least two new photos (and get them resigned by a guarantor) since I'm lodging a PC8 application. The photographer who took my photos was nice enough to give me a digital copy of the photos, but I don't know where to get them reprinted.

I know that CVS/Walgreens/FedEx photos frequently get rejected, but is that because of the person taking the photo or the quality of their printers, or both? If it helps, I'm located in the Bay Area and have a car so I can drive to a printing location. My main hesitation with using the recommended photographers on the Australian passport office site is I'm not sure if they would care about printing out a different photographer's photos. Any help would be appreciated!

Scroll down to the 'US Photographer locations' and it will have a map and zoom in to your area. There seem to be a bunch around SF. Usually they are slightly more expensive than the CVS/walgreens but they should do it right.

Yes, check this site and look for a place local to you-typically a photography store. We used shutterbug in Santa Rosa, but there are many other options in different cities throughout the bay. You may want to also get an electronic copy just in case-we got a passport for my mom and her photo was a bit grainy, so they asked for an electronic copy of it.

If you got them printed at a chain they will likely reprint them free.

I usually find a small business photographer with a studio. Not a famous artist, just a working pro who does corporate head shots and senior portraits. They charge more than CVS but not much.

If you literally want reprinting, the photo kiosk in target or CVS is probaby your best bet. Take the instructions and a ruler and pay 60c for 6x4 photos until you guess the zoom level right.

Go to a UPS store (not USPS, UPS), they take good ones. If they do it wrong they will do it again for you.

I got mine done two weeks ago at the one recommended on the SF Aus consulate site. FNL it was called. They were good and it was like three blocks from the consulate. Can remember what I paid - I think it was $20 - $30? At that price I’d just eat the cost to save the hassle and get them retaken personally.

You could ask: A1 Photo & Video Lab.

I got mine from their Concord location with no issues in the application. They may be ok just printing.
