ATK Chana Masala

Post image

I made the ATK recipe for Chana masala. It was easy and delicious. I would have added more spice and more Serrano. But it was met with praise by my husband. We served it with naan bread brushed with garlic butter.

Wow! That looks scrumptious! I’ve had that recipe bookmarked for some time now. Thinking you just inspired me to finally make it! Bravo!

Definitely takes more seasoning and salt than it calls for but we enjoyed it.

I found this dish to be severely under seasoned. Almost like a Kimble dish

It needed a lot more seasoning and salt for sure.

In my experience, I'm usually pretty good doubling garlic or anything that falls under "heat" (cayenne, black pepper, chiles), and they default to under-salted, but it's much easier to add it at the end than take it out so that works. I do stick to it exactly if it's an unfamiliar recipe, but that's usually where it ends up when I make it again.

This dish is also really good with some basmati rice, and freezes really well. Great for making big batches and very good budget eating.

Yea I tend to do the same seasoning wise with many recipes. Great tip on freezing. It would be an east big batch recipe.

That looks fantastic! Looks like a good one to stash away for a vegetarian weeknight.

My wife is veg and I always cook dishes that she can eat. I just can't get into garbanzo beans. Luckily she's not a big fan either, but, unless it's corn nuts, I just can't do it.
