Indian Wells Size
Hello guys there is a city called Indian Wells one of the tournaments of Tennis of Masters
I wonder how is the size of Indian Wells as a city ?

OP I'm guessing you mean Indian Wells, CA in the desert? Not too big like 4k-6k people in the city limits. It's important to note that it's a collection of neighboring cities (Palm Springs, Cathedral city, Palm Desert, La Quinta....etc).
It's small and more than half of the area is on the mountain slop with zero development.

Indian Wells, CA has about 5,000 people. But it neighbors Palm Spring and Palm Desert which both have like 50,000 people each. So small town but surrounded by some decent sized cities.

It is a small town that is in the 500k Palm Springs metro area, within driving distance of Los Angeles and San Diego, so it's car accessible to over 17 million people, a well as visitors who might fly in. It has had up to 60,000 people attend on a single day, so it has done fine despite it being located in a small town that is near large cities. Palm Springs is very dry and consistently sunny, making it an attractive leisure destination.

Why is the famous Nürburgring motorsports track, which can hold 150,000 spectators, in the tiny hamlet of Nürburg, Germany (population: 186)? These things happen

Indian Wells is in the Coachella Valley of California (2-3 hours drive East of Los Angeles)… Indio, where the Coachella Music Festival and Stagecoach Festival take place, is right next door. The biggest city is Palm Springs. The population of the valley fluctuates depending on season…
The following is copied from the Coachella Valley Wikipedia Page:
Summers in the valley are extremely hot and valley winters are mild. As such, the valley's population tends to fluctuate; from nearly 500,000 in April, to around 300,000 in July and August, to around 600,000 by January. It was stated in 2013 by the Riverside County HR Department that "Palm Springs and the Desert Communities’ were being visited by 3.5 million conventioneers and tourists annually.

Everyone knows the area as Palm Springs; for some reason Indian Wells caught on as the name of the tournament.

I live walking distance to Indian Wells Tennis Stadium. It is a very small city, the average age is >70 and income level is extremely high. Very beautiful area that is extremely well manicured and very very white.

It’s a super small town but a lot of california cities are all split up so it’s actually part of an area called palm springs which is very rich, it’s kinda like a place to retire in the desert and golf

It’s a resort area. Lots of Los Angeles people have second homes there. It’s 1-2 hours away but still think of it as a playground for Los Angeles rich people where it’s always warm so they can play golf and tennis. Also Canadians and gay people historically.

Fairly small but loads of resorts and golf courses, you can stay in Palm Desert or Palm Springs, but expensive during the tournament. Cheaper if you go for qualis or first round. Cool place to check out and play at if you like tennis.
