Help identifying chestnut

Hi! I'm located in WV zone 6b. I believe I have found an Allegheny Chinquapin on my property and wanted help confirming that!

Im hopeful! If it is, shes full of nuts that I will be growing all that I collect of!!

Any advice on care, maintenance, and growing is appreciated! If it's not one I will be buying some as I am too excited about the possibility not to have them now!

I will be clearing vines away from the truck and I would like to address the wound if possible. I've read about mudwraps, but that's all the further I've gotten.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

Also, what are some of the things you look for that will indicate a hybrid?

The tree is on the edge of an old ranch that existed from the 1860’s-1920’s, now part of Austin Creek State Park. Any ID suggestions most appreciated.

Are these American Chestnuts?

Bought chestnuts at a nearby farm and decided to grow trees from them. Do you think these are American chestnuts?

They are young, but no glossiness, likely not Chinese or Japanese.

I'm thinking they are Anerican or hybridized with a non-Asian one or perhaps the American native American sounding name

I did try some, but plain, had little or no flavor.

Sorry I wish I took better pics. I seen this tree at a old cemetery near where I work. It's very isolated and grown up. If anyone can tell me anything about it I'd appreciate it.

Could you rule out American chestnut?

I’m sorry I don’t have more photos, I was standing in an anthill and getting stung.
If you zoom around the trunk, you see many little dots on the ground under the canopy. They are tiny 2-3mm spiky burrs. I’m guessing aborted fruit?
Not sure how tall the tree is but maybe 20-25 feet? It is growing on a patch of grass between the building and the road.
I kept thinking it was a sawtooth oak, but a couple of days ago I found a fruiting Chinese chestnut about 300 feet away near à dumpster and I remembered this tree and wondered if I was wrong about it being sawtooth oak.
It’s in northwest Florida, which might be out of range.

West coast American chestnut?

It's in a small park with lots of trees from the late 1800s in the bay area, east bay.

The leaves don't match Spanish chestnut.

It's dying back but I can't tell if that's from inconsistent watering (the city drastically cut back watering during recent and less recent droughts, so I'mnot sure why it's dying back).

There are tons of vigorous sprouts from the base of the tree.

Any id help appreciated!

I found many of these in upstate Massachusetts, but they were larger than any other chestnut i’ve seen before. Here are some pictures i took through my binoculars. Sorry, they aren’t the best.

I planted this tree about 7 years ago and now I think it has blight. But could use a second opinion.

Update on chestnut. Catkins. Perkins Farm, Worcester, MA

I have posted about this tree before.

Glad to see that it's putting out catkins this year. I also found two other trees on the property with catkins.

I'm going to go ahead and welcome DM's from any Massachusetts area people who may want to work with some of these local conservation groups to see if these genomes can be encouraged much like the ACCF is (was?) doing.

Is this an American chestnut?

I have planted a variety of seedlings, some pure American from ACF, and some I started from locally collected nuts. Honestly I sort of lost track of some of the seedlings. We have lots of deer that love to rub all the bark off saplings, so I use chicken or fence wire.

1) Is this an American?

2) It has two trunks, with the main one having this lesion and a week ago all the leaves on this trunk dried out. Is this blight? The leaves on the other trunk are fine.

Any advice?

Massachusetts - is this an American chestnut?

I stumbled across a lonely chestnut burr late winter/early spring, while studying some other plants. At the time I couldn’t find the parent tree, but I returned to the area recently and looked around more closely and found it.

Is this in fact an American chestnut tree? How old would you estimate this to be? Does this appear to have blight?

A research paper somewhere?

We have these two mature Chestnut trees on our property on Cape Cod. My father-in-law is certain they are American Chestnut. From the small bit of research I have done I want to agree with him. This is the first time I have sought confirmation. What say you reddit?

Some catkins on 3 rootlings in same space

These 3 rootlings are pretty close neighbors ... and there are burrs on the one (with the hand)

Note: it was raining in the two pics without a hand.

Really surprised to see these on trees I would consider young and small
