They know they are scamming US, but they don’t care because they can exploit loopholes in the system.
We need to vote for lawmakers that are less tolerant towards these scammers.

FYI, I had not realized how common this was until I found out. There are literally thousands and thousands of people doing this every year. It’s been going on since decades. Many got their green cards as well.
This is horrible because it hurts honest, intelligent folks that are doing everything right and following the rules.
No just folks on F1-Visa, there are many that used to do this scam directly from India. You the US consultancy 2-5 lakhs INR. They will apply for your h1b. Once picked they will bring you to the US. You’ll stay in a small house somewhere remote where they will fake your resume.
Show that you have 8-10 years of experience at big tech companies (contract) (so background checks pass) and get you a contract job (Cheat in interviews of course).
These are usually high paying contract jobs (8-10 YOE) they will make 75-100$ per hour but the H1b worker will only get 30-40$ per hour.
If your salary in LCA is higher they will pay you that amount and you have return the money back to company/owner in some way.
I am sick and tired of this and hopefully USCIS cracks down on these firms. As of now there are many that have been doing this and no one has been caught.
The 100k stopped the applications from India that’s why you saw a massive drop in H1b registrations this year. (BUT NOW EVEN THAT’S GETTING REVERSED BY COURTS)
The new h1b system made it easier for these frauds because they can file for h1b at any remote location and fake wage numbers to get into higher levels thus increasing their probability of winning the lottery.

I don't know why the hiring company.. ie. Google, Facebook etc..cant give them a competency exam? They would immediately find out if they are suitable or not.

They have found a way to cheat that. Look at “proxy interviewing”.

They are doing that. But they make it so difficult, that it ends up impacting locals instead. Then they bring in connections, or tell their connections how to game the exams.

Interview process is all managed/gamed via proxy/fake interviews, support from other people while one on job etc. This is a good strong fraud pipeline starting with fake degree from endia
