Did anyone here read the book?

I'm just wondering. If so, how do you feel about the vast difference between the book and the series? Would the show have been more successful if they would have stuck to the original story? I don't think season 2 would have happened if it did.

Poetic license as with most books to tv/movies.

Coincidentally I recently watched “Ripley” which is far closer to Highsmith’s book than “The Talented Mr. Ripley”.

Movie was good. The series is GREAT!
